elevated JOTx0 Obituary
elevated JOTx0 David Arthur Gissing was born on September 17, 1936 to William and Annie Gissing in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England. He had a humble upbringing with one brother and two sisters – Eric, Maureen, and Joyce.
elevated JOTx0 At the peak of his profession he was the Chief Engineer of Hong Kong Electric, through its coal and nuclear power generation. Engineering certainly represented his character and passion, as a life-long hobbyist of locomotives, building model train sets, waking up early each morning to watch, wave, and catalogue the trains and railcars that rode by. David was a loving, humorous, intelligent, logical, and polished individual – a true gentlemen as fits the definition – sprinkling everyone with English humour and short stories.
elevated JOTx0 Left to honour David and remember his love are three siblings, four children, grandkids and beloved wife of 37 years – Catherine.
