elevated vi1cU Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Domenico Crisalli on February 2, 2025.
elevated vi1cU He is now reunited with his beloved wife Rocchina (nee Malvasi). He leaves behind his cherished daughter Serena, son Francesco, son-in-law Shane and adored grandchildren Ariana and Kielan. He was the oldest of 4 children and is survived by his sister Carmela (Antonio) and predeceased by his brother Giuseppe and sister Francesca (Stefano). Domenico will be terribly missed and held dear in the hearts of his many extended family and friends.
elevated vi1cU Domenico was born in Gallico Marina, Reggio Calabria, Italy. His deep love for family and caring heart was apparent from an early age when he took on the responsibility of looking after his mother and siblings as his father was often away at sea. In his late teens, Domenico’s quick intelligence and inquisitive mind led him to advance rapidly to become a key member of the signal core during his time in the Navy. His openness to new experiences and curiosity led him at the age of 23 to come to Canada to create a new future. Three years later he met the love of his life, Rocchina, with whom he was married for 65 years.
elevated vi1cU His desire to build a rich full life in Toronto and become a full member of the Canadian community, led him to start his own business and alongside his wife, establish ESL classes in public schools in Toronto. His integrity, sense of humour and open, loving spirit was deeply felt by his community, friends and family. Domenico leaves us with a treasure of stories, so much laughter and love. He will never be forgotten.
elevated vi1cU In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Domenico can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
elevated vi1cU Please note: for those who are attending by public transit, taxi/uber/lyft, please use the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery gates on Langstaff Road East, just west of Bayview Avenue. Once in the Cemetery, turn left at the first interior road, travelling east up the hill towards the Funeral Home on the left hand-side.
