Our deepest condolences to all the family for your loss. Such a kind and gentle man Desmond was. He will surely be missed by all who loved him. Rest in peace cuz.
Aunt Jubes wrote the following about dad and Joan which is beautiful and I felt I needed to add this here. It is about kindness and love no matter the distance and I thank you all for your kind support and comforting words of condolence
Aunt Jubes wrote:
Thanks my loving brother in law Desmond, for the special moments we shared over the phone with you and Joan. We cried, laughed, sang and we prayed. “So far and yet so near.”
I am certain that both Desmond and Joan will enjoy eternal life with all their families there, singing the “Alleluia Chorus. ”
Desmond my brother, it’s time to say goodbye (amigo my friend). You have touched many lives. “A life that touches others goes on forever. ”
Farewell ,Africa ‘s “Umzinto, hambagacleh”.Farewell wonderful loving ,cheerful peaceful soul. I can hear your catching laughter. Xx Jubes, Aunty Jubes to others
My thoughts are with you today. Thoughts of comfort in this moment of separation. Thoughts of memory as I think of the journey traveled. Thoughts of hope that even though the dawns seems far off,it will bring new light and a lightening of burdens. And so I wish you joy in the memory, peace that comes with hope and love which comes from the global gathering of people who care for you.
Desiree, Terence and family.
Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
We send our love.
Rest in Peace dad/grandad.

Dear Desiree, Terence and family…please note our heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Heer family. Uncle Des was one of the “shining stars” in our large extended family. One will always remember his booming voice while he interacted with Dad (Franz) and others during the family events on the farm. We vividly remember those childhood days. Thank you to those who thought of streaming the mass this morning. Uncle Des is at peace, we’re thankful for that.
My sincerest condolences Terrence and Desire.
Dearest Desiree, Terence, all Uncle Des’s siblings & your families, our condolences. Uncle Des & Aunty Rica you were my ‘weekend parents’ when I was at St Dominics. Thank you for all your love & support & for treating me as the ‘big sis’ to your lovely children. I learned so much from you. Lots of love, Carol & family.
Condolences to Desiree , Terence and family — may you find peace and comfort for the life well lived of your dad — GOD bless
