It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss we announce the peaceful passing Edith Mary Gardner (nee Manz) on December 23, 2024, at Aspira Douglas Crossing Retirement Living, at the age of 93. Born on April 24, 1931 in Ontario to parents Joseph & Rose. Reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Joseph. Loving mother of Margaret (Stephen). Proud grandma of David (Stephanie) and Stephanie (Jamie). Adored GG of Ella, Mikey, Joseph and Vivian. Predeceased by her companion friend Edward Sackfield. Edith predeceased sister Hertha. She will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of her many extended family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
Your thoughts and kindness are truly appreciated during this time of sorrow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honour of Edith Mary Gardner can be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada
Dearest cousin Margaret and family. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom and my wonderful aunt. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. She will be greatly missed. I will always cherish the beautiful memories in my heart. All my love. xxoo
Thank you Linda for your kind thoughts and prayers for our family. We will all miss her greatly, but she is in a better place now.
Thinking of all of you at this time. Auntie Edith was my godmother and my mom’s best friend. When I think of her, I think of so many memories: Florida trips, the cottage in Halliburton, and the friendship she had with my mom. They would enjoy each other’s company and support each other always. She will be missed, but I know she is up in Heaven smiling with her best friend Rose.
Margaret
So sorry for your loss. Auntie Edith was a powerful presence as a child growing up along with all the Gardners. Fond memories of her joy of life and great laugh. She’s with my mom and dad Mary and Frank Kramer now in heaven.
Thanks Kathy
Our families spent many wonderful vacations together. They were best friends and are now reunited in heaven
Thinking of you all, at this difficult time of loss. Cherish the wonderful memories you all share together. Take good care of one another.
Sincerely: Ken, Lori , Delaney & Clarke Keenan
Thanks Theresa
I am sure they are all playing cards together now
Thanks Keenan family,
We definitely have a lot of wonderful memories of my mom that we will always cherish.
Just heard from Aunty Mary about Aunty Edith’s passing. So sorry for your loss. She was our favourite ‘red-head’. Lots of great memories from the many boxing days we all spent together. Love the Kramer Clan
Thanks Rose Marie for your kind words, favourite ‘red head’ lol l love it
Margaret, We just heard about your mom’s passing (Kramer’s auntie Edith)
Beth’s and myself offer our deepest condolences, she will forever be in our hearts and prayers
Thanks Frank for your thoughtful words, and keeping her in your hearts and prayers
I’m so sorry for your loss Margaret, Stephen and family.
Auntie Edith held a very special place in my heart (she has always been my favourite).
She would defend me to my Dad when I was misbehaving and then have me sit with her. I believe, just to upset Frank. Lucky me!
I too shall miss her.
Vicki
Thanks for telling me that Vicki, it’s wonderful to hear what my mom did and meant to everyone
