elevated Zv9CU It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Elda Meschino (nee Mancini), at the age of 91 on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Saturnino Meschino. Cherished and caring mother of Alfio, Antonietta and Gino (Eva). Devoted and proudest Nonna to Celine (Hemant), Danielle, Christopher (Cindy), John and Tera.
elevated Zv9CU Elda was born on January 14, 1932 in Arce, Frosinone, Italy and lived her young adult life in Itri, Latina, Italy, before immigrating to Canada in 1957. Loving daughter of the late Alfonso and Filomena Mancini and caring sister of Anna (Salvatore), Angela (Pietro), Elia (Carmine) and Erina (Antonio).
elevated Zv9CU Elda was blessed with many nieces, nephews, and friends, was grateful to be a godmother to many and will forever be remembered as the heart of her community at home and abroad. She provided love and ever-present friendship no matter the time difference or distance between them. She especially enjoyed demonstrating her love and passion for family through remarkable cooking that will be greatly missed.
elevated Zv9CU It is the family’s wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. https://www.heartandstroke.ca/

My patena (godmother) was an incredible woman. She was generous, kind, and always had something to say- sometimes well into the night, long after the espresso had been brewed, the conversation continued between our parents for 45 min at the door, as they were “putting on their shoes.”
She gifted me my first ever doll- the same height as me, at age 5. Her name is Sally, and she resided in our parents home where our children played with her as well. She is now in the crawl space, but comes out every Halloween;) She still provides entertainment and was one of the best Christmas gifts ever, even 55 years later.
I regret not going to see my beautiful Godmother one hour sooner.
That Saturday I went , she had just been transferred to the hospital.
I will always remember her hearty laugh, her genuine interest in our lives, her cheerfulness and the incredible bond she had with my mother. Patena, Rest in Peace- you will be remembered and loved.
May the happy memories of Elda give you peace and comfort during this challenging time. Our sincere and deepest condolences to you and your family for your loss.
