In Loving Memory of our dear cousin Emily
Our family is deeply saddened to hear of Emily’s passing, and we are devastated by the loss of someone who meant so much to us all. While her absence leaves a void in our hearts, we are comforted by the countless cherished memories we were fortunate to share with her.
Emily had a special way of making every moment feel extraordinary. Whether it was her radiant smile at family weddings, her warm laughter during holiday gatherings, or her enthusiasm at our summer Celebre picnics, she brought joy and love to every event. Her thoughtful nature and ability to connect with everyone made her the heart of so many of our family celebrations.
We will forever treasure the memories of her dancing at weddings, sharing family stories. Emily’s presence was a gift, and the love she shared will continue to inspire us all.
Though we mourn her loss, we are grateful for the time we had with her and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Emily—you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Antonio, Giovanna Petrasso and family

Our hearts are broken. We are still in shock. Dear Zia Emily, you were the best. You weren’t just our aunt—you were our second mom, our confidante, and our biggest cheerleader. Anyone that knew her, knew that her love was limitless, her generosity was unmatched, and her presence was a constant source of comfort and light.
Zia Emily gave so much of herself to others, never asking for anything in return. She was the one who made every holiday brighter, with her contagious laughter, exciting stories, delicious homemade baked goods and thoughtful gifts.
She was the heart of our family, holding us together in so many ways, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
Heaven has gained an angel, and we are so blessed to now have her as our guardian angel, watching over us from above. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort knowing she is at peace and reunited with loved ones who went before her.
We love you forever, Zia Emily. Thank you for being our light and our strength. You will live on in every smile, every memory, and every act of love. Until we meet again, rest peacefully.
Love,
Gaetano & Fatima Valentini

So sad to hear about the loss of Emily. She was a wonderful person. I had the pleasure of working with her at the CEC for some time – she was so encouraging and had a great sense of humour. I worked with Emily for many years, going back to the Notre Dame days. She packed a lot of joy into sixty-eight years. Just seeing her picture brings her infectious laugh and melodic voice vividly to mind – an indelible thread of her presence that connects many.
Emily was one of a kind. Generous, quick to laugh and always stepping up to help others. She made a difference to the lives of so many.
Our sincere condolences to the Monaco and Valentini families. We were shocked to hear the passing of Emily. Emily and I would meet up occasionally for coffee. Emily was such a special person, always caring, giving and laughing. The list can go on. Our last text was the week before Christmas. Such a shock. She will be missed.
Emily you were a light in our school. When I’d see you it was an instinct “Italian”connection and I just knew the best conversation was going to happen. You lit up a room by your smile and exuberant personality. I will miss you so much.
Deepest condolences to the family. Emily was one of a kind. She was very special lady in many ways. May she rest in peace. She will be missed.
Emily was a reliable hard working person. She was generous and honest, and said it like it was. I remember one day at work she told me to smile, that I was a nice person. In that moment I realized I was letting my busy job get the best of me. I was grateful to her for her positive attitude. She will be missed at Sacred Heart. Everyone adored her. My condolences to her family.
When I read Mike’s email, I didn’t recognize her name, when I saw her picture, I gasped. I knew her. I met Emily a couple of years ago. We chatted for a total of 5 minutes and we were laughing together like we had known each other a lifetime. I loved her energy. I remember walking away thinking wow, she’s hilarious. I can just imagine how she was with her family and friends who she knew well. We were complete strangers. My condolences to all of the people who had a special bond with Emily. May she R.I.P

Emily, my dear dear friend I will miss you so much. When you walked into a room it was like a warm gust of wind sweeping us up and taking us along on your magic carpet ride of love, laughter and fun…so many wonderful memories to warm us through this difficult time.

Emily, you have left a legacy of love, laughter, generosity and dedication which will be forever engraved in our hearts. Thank you, as it is now for us to share it with others. Until we meet again.
Emily, you brought so much joy and laughter to my day every time you were at one of my schools. My fondest memory is the first time I met you at GS and you found out I was Italian it was an instant connection. I remember working along side of you as an EA when you were called as emergency supply. We had the best laughs together laughing so hard we had tears. I will miss seeing your beautiful face and I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to see you just a few weeks ago and spend time getting to Chiacchierando!! May you rest in peace and watch over everyone. I will miss you so much.
I’m so sad to hear about Emily. Always so kind and thoughtful. I met Emily 18 years ago when I started as a supply secretary. Knowing that I had not received training she took time out of her busy schedule to spend with me and train me. I will never forget that. She would bring me pezzelle and pop in to see me when at the CEC. I will never forget you Emily. My condolences to the Monaco family.
To the family of Emily: I knew Emily when she filled in at St. Bernadette’s in Sutton. What a character she was and always so friendly and so happy. She adored her family and usually included stories about them in our conversation. She and I had such a great time when we worked together. Her favorite expression was “you crack me up” I feel so sorry for her family with such a great loss.
May the Dear Lord grant her mercy and take her to her eternal rest in Heaven. God Bless dear Emily.
To Gino, as well as Emily’s family and friends, I am so sorry to hear about Emily’s sudden passing. My heart goes out to all of you and I share your sadness.
They say friends are the family we choose. Through her friendship, Emily was family to me and my family. She touched the hearts of everyone she encountered with her kindness, generosity and good nature.
I wish you peace and comfort during this difficult time. Though Emily is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Emily.

Dearest Emily
You were such a vital thread in the fabric of our lives.
Your passion for family and community was evident in every gathering you organized. We lost the most amazing, outgoing, kind and generous woman. A fantastic mother, sister, aunt and loving wife to Gino.
We will always cherish many memories of times with your infectious laugh, and your boundless kindness.Your presence was a gift, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew you.
We will feel the gap in our lives where you once were in our family gatherings, and know that you will be berating us from up above to continue the traditions in your memory.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Monaco Family during this time of grieving. Emily was a kind and thoughtful person who always went out of her way to make things better for others. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
It saddens my heart to hear of Emily’s passing. We are all blessed to have know her. She was a beautiful person inside and out. To say “she will be greatly missed”, is an understatement. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
In Loving Memory and in Celebration of Emily:
Generous with your love and dedication, generous with your time, generous with your thoughtfulness, generous with your unending selflessness. Your incredible ability to hone in on someone in need, was remarkable. You felt other people’s pain, struggles, sorrow as if your own. You rejoiced in people’s accomplishments, celebrations, milestones with a full and generous heart. You always found joy in simply bringing joy to others. Your heartfelt gestures and often discreet acts of kindness and generosity were always unconditional. Always carried out with a determination to make someone else’s life a little bit easier, more special, always valued. Despite challenges and obstacles, you were determined to live fully and that you did, my friend. You are the force that is Emily. A force that will remain an inspiration to your family, your friends, your colleagues, and all who know and love you. As I read all these wonderful tributes and heartfelt messages, I am reminded of the uncanny similarity to tributes and messages posted in 2020. In my “AHA!” moment, I realized “yes, but of course! Gaetano!”. Emily is indeed her father’s daughter. I am unsure of the true significance of the term “oh what a guy!”. But I would imagine it is incredibly personal, meaningful, and endearing. And so, if I may,
“Em, you are one of a kind! OH WHAT A GAL!”
Forever in our hearts. Love you.
Our heartfelt condolences to the Valentini and Monaco families.
Rose and Giancarlo Celebre and Family
It is with deep sadness I learn of Emily’s passing.
As I read the beautiful tributes to her, I am reminded of her amazing smile, kindness, empathy and sparkle. She was 13 and, 1 but I2 years of age. We both attended St. Bernard’s School on Thurodale Ave., in Toronto.
Her graduation from Grade 8 would have been but the last of one other time we saw each other, many years later. Her personality continued to shine, her beautiful spirit radiating the room.
To her beloved family and dear friends, my sincerest condolences. Her life sparkled, as she brightened the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
May she rest in eternal peace amongst the choir of angels.
My deepest condolences to Emily and her family. She was an amazing co-worker. I will never forget the day she worked with me in kindergarten at Our Lady of Good Council. That day we worked on Mother’s Day gifts and Emily took it upon herself to go out and buy labels for the gifts for their parents. She was a great lady, friend and co-worker. Emily will be greatly missed, may the Good Lord take her into his arms and lead her into his Heavenly Kingdom, resting in Peace. Emily will be greatly missed. I am lucky to have known her and my heart is saddened by this loss. Keeping you and your family in my prayers.
I first met Emily at her and Gino’s wedding. She made a lasting impression on me.. what a classy lady with a beautiful soul! With Deep Sorrow,
It’s moments like this that re-shuffle the memories and the feelings that are tied to them. I vividly remember Emily as a joyous and passionate person who sought to include everyone into her circle of happiness. The unstoppable passing of time and the reality of physical distance will never fade my love for Emily and the sorrow I feel with her departure. She was a beautiful soul that undoubtedly made her a wonderful mother, daughter, partner and sibling. I send my deepest condolences and heartfelt love to Gino, the children, Zia Lina and all my cousins.

The unimaginable happened. That inconceivable thought buried deep in the back of my mind has come into being: the love of my life is gone.
Em and I spent 9 years courting and 35 years married. Our instant connection was our initial conversation – we not only spoke Italian, we spoke Calabrese, and specifically with a Cosenza dialect – we truly had an elevated appreciation of who we were and where we came from right from the get go. It seems we knew each other before meeting on Civic holiday Monday 1980 on Yorkville.
We married August 12, 1989, had Joseph October 1990, and then Gabriel December 1993 – she absolutely loved our sons and was an outstanding mother. Throughout our sons’ lives, Em made every event, occasion, milestone and achievement a celebration of unconditional love. My sons have many memories of mom, some embarrassing but most filled with laughter and love.
How does one measure love? Em embraced my entire family, Monaco and Celebre as her own. My wife kept very close contact with my family out of respect and love for me. For those married, one knows the challenges and joy of your spouse’s family. For Emily, it came naturally because she not only loved me but my entire family. Her love for me and my family was immeasurable.
She loved going to schools, period. She had friends in so many schools that I lost track: teachers, administrators, principals, janitors and especially the kids. She would often come home telling me a cute story or funny incident a young kindergarten child did or said. She loved the children. She would go to a school maybe for just the morning or afternoon to help out wherever she could – she truly loved the people and children. I never saw her come home angry or upset – ever.
Such a beautiful person and a life cut short will hurt for quite awhile. We celebrated our 35th anniversary this year down south and while sitting on the beach, I asked her if there are any regrets or anything she still wanted to do. I said, we’re not that young, or that old yet to do whatever we want. She answered she’d done everything she wanted and hoped we can continue to travel together in the years ahead. This too is now gone.
As you view Emily’s picture memorial, you’ll note the love for her family, her sister Norma and Frank, her brother Paul and Andria, her brother Dave along with her sister Bea and Mario, along with mom and dad Lina and Guy. Not to mention the nieces and nephews, Joey, Gaetano, Jordan, Julie, Teo, Danny, Nicky and Santino as well as Amanda and Nadia and my mom and dad Giuseppe and Emilia. My heart breaks for my brother Amedeo and Diana and our best friends Rob and Diane Sansone – Emily had most of her side bursting laughter with Diana and Diane. Whether losing their skirts at the casino, getting costumed up for Halloween or just sitting having a coffee shooting the breeze – these three women shared laughter, love and family moments like no other. I hope we all have the strength and courage to get through this.
And finally to my wife Em, what a ride! I don’t want it to be over. It truly breaks every fibre of my being to know you’re truly gone. There’s no one better I could have chosen to spend my life with – I was truly blessed and so lucky we found each other and shared a remarkable life. I will never forget you; my mind is filled with memories that will forever remind me of our love. I will give our sons both our love forever. We will miss you.
Your forever loving husband,
Gino
(P.S. please say hi to Dad, his little girl has arrived).
Gino, it’s Romeo, I offer my Deepest Condolences to you and your family. There are words at this time to console you. May Emily Rip in the hands of the Lord❤️🙏🙏
Gino,
What a fitting tribute to a wonderful person! I can’t imagine Emily in any way other than the one you’ve described. We worked together at Notre Dame and I can honestly say it was a privilege to be even the small part of her life that I was. I particularly enjoyed her sense of humour. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
David Carnaffan
My dearest Emily,
Heaven has welcomed you home with open arms. You emanated the love Jesus asked of us towards one another: love of life, love of people (especially the children), love for all you did. Your energy and warmth lit every room you entered. To the Monaco and Valentini families, I send my deepest condolences and prayers. I first met Emily as “Mrs. Monaco” a couple of decades ago at Notre Dame where my kids went to school. Our paths crossed again in 2024 where she effortlessly became a beautiful friend and inspiration in my life. I am truly blessed to have known her and will carry forward her passion and love of life.
We send our deepest condolences To Gino, Joseph, Gabriel, Zia Lina, Norma, Paul, Davie, Becia and the rest of the family,
Emily was always laughs and joy! Always so excited to share a story, so funny and life of a party. I’ll never forget receiving Cardinal ornaments for our mom and each of our siblings to commemorate the passing of our dad (her Zio Ottavio) So thoughtful and generous. She made the best Mini muffins and baked goods. Her smile will be in our hearts forever. Heaven rang in the new year with the best party goer. Hope she’s dancing with the rest of the angels. We will never forget you Em! We love you.
Sending our love to the Monaco and Valentini families 🕊️🙏
My dear Emily, from our first encounter at St. Nicholas, the connection we shared of endearing love and respect for one another, views on life and special friendship is a gift I will cherish forever. Like the angel you kept on your desk that I gifted you, that you cherished, you too are an angel, a gift in the heavens above. You have a heart of gold and touched the hearts of so many. My deepest condolences to Gino, Joseph, Gabriel and the entire family.
I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your wife and mother. Emily was such a lovely person with a warm heart and a vibrant smile. Although I did not know her well, she had a presence full of light and kindness exuded from her. When working at the main office at Sacred Heart, she always stopped by my door to say hello, chat for a few moments, or to say goodbye as she was leaving. Emily will be greatly missed.
Mrs.Monaco, you not only brighten my days but also my life. what a gift it was to know you and to look up to you. Every time you supplied it made my day. you would always ask how my mom and my grandma were doing, always checking up on me and having new stories to tell me every time you saw me, you felt like family. You were such a bright and bubbly person and always made everyone’s day so much better by your positivity. may you rest in peace.
My thoughts and prayers are with Emily’s immediate and extended families at this time of sadness and grief. Emily’s bright smile and caring ways always brightened our days at Notre Dame. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. May her infectious laugh and kind ways forever remain in our hearts.
With my deepest condolences,
To Gino and family
I am deeply saddened to hear of Emily’s passing, my deepest condolences to you. May you find the strength to get through this difficult time and remembering all the love she left behind May she RIP
Dearest Gino, Joseph and Gabriel. Words cannot express the sadness and shock to hear of Emily’s passing, and our hearts go out to you. I wish we could be there to provide our support during this time, but COVID has run through our household and we do not wish to risk spreading it to anyone. Emily was so kind and generous to me and my family. She always made sure my wife and kids felt welcome at our gatherings and will forever keep a special place in our hearts. The world lost a truly special woman, and we send all our love.
Our hearts are shattered as we say goodbye to Emily—a beloved cousin, mother, sister, daughter, wife, and dear friend. Emily was the kind of person who lit up every room she entered. Her laughter, her smile, and her boundless love made every moment with her unforgettable.
To Gino, her devoted husband, and her two beautiful children, please know that our thoughts and deepest condolences are with you. Emily’s love for you was endless, and her greatest joy was her family. Her strength, grace, and the love she poured into her home will remain a lasting legacy.
Emily was more than just a presence in our lives; she was a source of light, warmth, and inspiration. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. Whether it was through her thoughtful words, her generous heart, or the way she always put others first, Emily left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
As we grieve the loss of such an incredible soul, we also celebrate the life she lived so beautifully. Emily touched all of our lives in ways that words can hardly capture, and her spirit will remain with us always. Let us find comfort in the memories we shared with her—the laughter, the joy, and the countless moments of love that will forever remain in our hearts.
In her honor, let us carry forward the lessons she taught us: to love fiercely, to cherish each moment, and to always lead with kindness. Emily’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and grace, and though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will forever guide and inspire us.
Rest peacefully, Emily. You were deeply loved and will be missed more than words can ever say. May your memory be a blessing and a source of strength for all who knew and loved you.
Dear Gino, Joseph, Gabriel, and the Valentini Family,
We are heartbroken to hear about Emily’s passing. It’s hard to find the words to express how deeply this loss has touched us. Emily had a way of lighting up every moment with her kindness, joy, and love, and she made every gathering feel so special.
The memories we have of her—her laughter, her warmth, and her incredible spirit—are treasures we will hold in our hearts forever. We are so grateful for the moments we shared with her and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
Emily, you will always hold a special place in our hearts. We will miss you more than words can say. We love you so much.
With all our love and deepest sympathy,
Zia Ornella and Zio Aldo 🙏
For Gino Monaco and family
I am deeply sorry for the loss of your wife. She was a wonderful person and her memory will live on in our hearts. Emily’s legacy will be cherished by all who knew her. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
Our sincere condolences to Gino, Joseph, Gabriel and all of Emily’s family. If I may share a memory. Back in 2006 when Ferruccio (my brother) was diagnosed with crohn’s disease, he was sick a lot. Emily called my parents house. When I was speaking with Emily I started to cry, I was worried and a bit overwhelmed, Emily said to me ‘you don’t have to do it alone’. She said the perfect thing. I remember that.
Dear Gino, Joseph, Gabriel and Family!
My heart aches for each and every one of you. I am speechless and shocked on Emily’s passing. We spoke the week before Christmas as she came to visit her friends at the board office bringing some treats for everyone. Heart of Gold! She would chat with everyone and always with love and compassion. We have deeply lost a wonderful human!
Rest in Peace Emily!
Dear Gino,
We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Emily. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
Emily and Zia Lina came to visit us in the summer and we had so much fun… Emily said next Pitbull concert she was going with Paula and her sister..
I was hoping she could have many more good times at the cottage with us. Emily had an unique ability to light up any room and make everyone feel included. Her spirit and warmth touched us all. Her absence will be deeply felt, my heart goes out to you and the rest of the family.
If there’s anything I can do to help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thinking of you during this difficult time. Sending you strength and love. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Dearest Emily. I am truly grateful to have met you and know you although brief it was quickly evident that you are one of a kind. Your love and passion for your family and work did not go unnoticed. Thank you for touching my life. You will be missed. Reat in eternal peace. Heaven has gained an amazing angel.
I knew Emily as a colleague at St Max and as the secretary at Notre Dame, where my children went to school.
Education is a hard space to be in some days, but she never EVER wavered from her full-of-life personality – even if the day was hard.
Her “earthy” voice was so distinguishably beautiful that it brought joy to my heart to hear her speak (we often spoke Italian!!)
– her words were always so kind and genuine. She simply cared about people. She was loved by all.
I hadn’t seen Emily for some time, but heaven gained an angel because she was a beacon of light on this Earth – no doubt she is now illuminating the heavens.
Sending love to her family as they grieve this great loss.
It is with a heavy heart that I pay tribute to our beloved Emily. A true friend and confidante, a person who made you feel you were her best friend. As a best friend she celebrated with you, stood by you in time of your grief and never wavered in calling to check in on how you were doing. I marvelled at how she could balance all this knowing it was not just me but many more family, friends, colleagues. She showered everyone she knew with love. The outpouring of support shown since her passing is a true testament of the quality of a remarkable unique woman.
To Gino, Joseph, Gabriel and the entire Valentini family we extend our love and support as we say goodbye too soon to our Emily. Eternal rest
Dear Gino, Joe (Taylor) and Gabriel,
Our heart breaks for you. We’re so sorry your world has been turned upside down.
To her mother Lina, brothers, sisters and all the Valentini family, our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
Emily was my strength, my courage, my confidence and my voice.
My sister-in-law and my best friend. She taught me so much. She included me in her many generous deeds and would sign my name on gifts and cards even without my knowing.
We have all felt so special and loved around Emily. She was the best aunt and like a second mother to my daughters, Amanda and Nadia. So loving and supportive thought the good time and the bad times. Emily was also nonna #2 to my four grandchildren. She would brag and share pictures and stories of them. They brought her so much joy. Emily had a huge heart and impacted all of our lives so much.
Emily loved the outdoors and the water. She and the boys would pick up me and the girls and we would be off to Wonderland from morning until night. She told Gino he couldn’t get rid of the van because it was for all of us 🙂
Emily was the true meaning of one-of-a-kind. We thank God for the blessing of having her in our lives.
On Monday December 23rd at 8:30am (always an early bird) she picked me up and we went for a coffee in King City. The server asked, “is your order for here or to go?” Emily said, “oh no! Staying here!” Laughing and making us all laugh. Her spirit and love for life was present everywhere she went.
We will miss you forever, but you’ll always be in our hearts.
Emily’s happy face was all I needed to have a good day at school.
If you ever needed help Emily was there to help. I will miss knowing you and your happy face Emily. God Bless you! I will keep your family in my prayers.
Dear Gino and family
We only have beautiful memories with Emily-
Her smile, her love of music and dancing and her joy for life. She was taken away too soon, but her spirit will live on inside of the many people she touched. Our deepest and most sincere condolences- Lee and Giulio Bianchi
Deepest Condolences and prayers to all the family during this difficult time. Emily will be missed by all her CUPE 2331 colleagues that had the pleasure of knowing her and working with her.
Gone too soon. RIP Emily.
Emily you will be missed. You were always like a Zia to me, making me laugh, checking in on me when I was upset or down. Always with a joke or the right words to cheer me up.
Although we only know each other for a short time, your impact not only on me but those around you is immeasurable.
Thank you for the laughter and wise words. Thanks for the crazy dancing and making the bus trips so much fun (Montreal will never be the same).
Rest in peace and our condolences to Gino and the family.
In loving memory,
Emily was one of the most selfless people I had ever met, and lit up every room she entered. She was always generous with her love and gave it to anyone she came across. Emily knew everyone’s coffee order, including janitors at the schools, and never missed a Happy Birthday. She always asked how my family was doing and sent me with homemade mini muffins and gingerbread biscotti every Christmas to share with them.
She made a lasting impression on everyone. I ran errands with her once, and all we needed was chocolate chips from the Bulk Barn. We ended up making 4 other stops and it took us 3 hours lol. Along the way, we were stopped countless times by people recognizing her and wanting to catch up. That same selfless, compassionate and hilarious person she was with me, she also was with each of them.
It’s hard for Joseph and I to imagine planning a wedding and starting a family without her by our sides. She had lists of vendors and contacts ready for me and called us everyday saying “what’re you waiting for? I’m gonna be walking down the aisle with a cane if you don’t get a move on!” She always swore to me she’d never be a crazy Italian mother-in-law, and cracking jokes saying “tell me to shut it if I’m being too much”. I never needed to (yet) and I listened to every idea and piece of advice she had for me.
Our last night out together was the Pitbull concert. We didn’t sit in our seats once, and we danced and sang through the entire 2 hour show. I will forever think of her anytime I hear a Pitbull song.
Emily, thank you for being the best bonus mom! I will miss you deeply and keep our memories close to my heart.
Until we meet again, keep dancing 💕

You were the one always concerned about others losing loved ones. From humans to cats and dogs they always had a special place in your heart.
Thank you for being a second mom to my boys. Always there to lend a helping hand. We will miss your funny stories delicious food and most of all you. Come what may you and dad are reunited again. There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, their light remains…. I had that privilege to meet Emily once at Joe’s and Justina’s place and I will remember her happy friendly spirit. My deepest condolences to All closest to her heart on behalf of Justina’s Family RIP

Sentite condoglianze a te caro cugino Gino e famiglia.
Ti abbraccio forte 🙏🙏
In memory of or beloved cousin Emily.
Our deepest condolences to the entire family.
God definitely took a good one.
Emily you will always be in hearts and our thoughts.
You will always be remembered for your upbeat energy, hard work and the stories you would tell us when doing the tomatoes.
As we get older we don’t see each other as much, maybe a few times a year.
Emily has never met my dogs but would always take the time to ask how they are doing by name and then followed by stories about Joseph’s dog.
Emily you are a beautiful soul that will be forever missed. May you rest in peace.
Love Luca & Sasha
Today I heard the saddest news of Emily’s passing. My deepest condolences to her family, friends and anyone that knew her. Emily was such a beautiful soul. I first met her when I worked a short contract at Notre Dame. She welcomed me right away with that beautiful smile and started to speak to me in Italian. She said, “With a last name like Bosco, you’ve got to be italian.” I laughed and we continued to speak in italian every morning. She made me feel welcomed and always had a kind word. It saddens me to know that I won’t see her around at the schools anymore but I know that she is watching and smiling down from heaven. RIP cara Emily! Ci vediamo la su!!
Em, I am so sorry you left us so early! I am so sorry we drifted apart! That does not mean we stopped caring, at least on my part!
Our relationship was so precious to both of us! We grew up together, we shared a bedroom, we laughed and we cried together many times! Well, nothing I can say now would change anything! We will have a chance to clear everything on the other side!
Knowing you, you will organize a get together with all our loved ones upon your arrival! Give everyone my love, Rest in peace,
Until we meet again!
My deepest condolences to you Gabriel and the rest of your family. I only met your Mom a few months ago and had the privilege of working along side her. Wow, what an amazing person she was. So full of energy and laughter. She was so passionate about her work. I’m glad although short as it was to have met your Mom. She truly was a beautiful person both inside and out. She will be truly missed.
RIP Emily!
Your kindness and genuine dedication to all the people you served will never be forgotten.
May your family and friends take comfort at this difficult time by the acknowledgment of your beautiful example and positive impact on our lives.
Gab, my deepest condolences to you, your father and brother… and your extended family. I only met your mom a year and a half ago, but the caring, loving, giving person she was will always be remembered. Gone too soon but never forgotten , may she rest in eternal peace. 🙏🏼❤️

My sincere condolences to the Monaco and Valentini family on the loss of beautiful Emily. I worked with Emily at Notre Dame and she also knew one of my daughters when she worked at Canadian Martyrs. Emily was always positive, always caring, always loving, and always fun. Her beautiful spirit will remain in my heart.
Thank you Emily for sharing so much love and joy!
Rest in Peace my dear Cousin and Friend Emily
You’ll be truly missed.
You really were the life of the party,
Gone way too soon.
You were Our Angel here on Earth,
Now you are our Angel in Heaven
Emily was a vibrant spark. We first met when my children attended Notre Dame. Always a pleasant smile whenever you walked into the office. She continued to remember my kids as I would see her at the school where I taught and even working in my classroom as an emergency EA! She saw them in her travels into the high school and they wondered how she could remember them from so many years ago!
My condolences are with her family at this difficult time. Know that she had a lasting impact on the many families, children and educators. 🙏
Emily was always a joy to be around. She had a one of a kind energy and I am so pleased to have known her.
I have a good handful of great memories where she had us in tears – I’m sure everyone else that had known her can say the same.
I will never forget when she took Gabe and I for veal sandwiches after grade 12 graduation or how she treated Vanessa when they first met.
Losing Emily far too soon is difficult for all who knew her but we are privileged to have had the chance to get to know her.
Rest in peace, Emily.
Sending strength to the Monaco and Valentini families during this time.
Emily, aka Martha Stewart, with her special touch, always made everything magnificent. The decor was always lovely. The food was always delicious. She had a way of making everyone feel they were valued and treated everybody with respect. She greeted people with her gorgeous smile and a sincere, happy hello. Little ones who visited the office would be welcomed with her hugs and leave with an ice pack or bandaid, always feeling comforted. You could hear her amazing laugh down the hall.
Emily adored her “Gino”. He was the love of her life. She treasured her boys and spoke of them always – so honoured to be their mamma. She loved her family and was so very proud of her nieces and nephews. Emily was always there for everyone – txting and checking up on us, meeting friends for coffee and always there to listen. I will miss you sweet Emily, Calabrisella mia, and think of you when I drive by the Briars, meet friends for breakfast at the Buttery, and especially when I go by any school in York region. Your wild spirit, kindness and love made our world beautiful and has impacted us forever.
Terribly sorry to hear of ms Monaco’s passing. While we regrettably hadn’t kept in touch her kindness and compassion to my family and I whilst she worked at Notre Dame and OLGC was never forgotten and made a significant impact on our lives. We are incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with such an incredible person.
Sending her friends and family sincere condolences, may she rest in peace.

She will be missed by many, especially her family.. My condolences to her family, time and warm memories will help you at times of sorrow. Rest in peace sweet Emily
Sending our deepest condolences to the family ! You will be in our thoughts and prayers!
My condolences to the entire Monaco family. No one made me laugh harder than Emily. I will always remember walking through the halls of Prince of Peace teaching everyone Calabrese sayings. RIP Emily 🙏
I am so very saddened to hear this news. Emily was always a bright light and ray of sunshine every time we met. I will miss her so very much. Sending prayers to the Monaco family.
Where do I begin to honour a person who embodied love, kindness, generosity, support, but most importantly, an over abundance of fun and laughter. Emily was my partner in setting up the menu for all our family get-togethers.They will never be the same without her. I can never forget her excitement and genuine joy, and unconditional love she had for my son Joey when he was born. Sometimes I thought she was his mom. Her love and support for Joey was immeasurable right to the very end, and for that I thank her. Her strength and constant carefree manner was truly refreshing and inspiring. She taught us all the importance of perseverance, and staying true to oneself. Nothing was impossible for Emily. Her absence leaves a huge void that will never be filled, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, most importantly her family. Emily’s unwavering love for her husband Gino, her precious sons. Joseph and Gabriel were her reason to live they were and will forever be her world. As we bid her farewell we can find solace in the fact that Emily lived her life to the fullest and lived it her way. Truly, her father’s daughter! Now she can join dad and continue where they left off… Dancing and entertaining everyone: “oh what a gal!” Always in my heart and never forgotten thank you Em, your loving sister Norma.
