With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Eric Liberi on February 26, 2025.
elevated fQqAj Born on November 9, 1946, in Roccamorice, Italy to Angiolina Santangelo and Umberto Liberi. In 1970, he met Katherine on a blind date, and they married in October of 1971. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Eric and Kathy were devoted to their family, raising their son James (Pina), and cherishing their role as grandparents to Chiara and Matthäus.
elevated fQqAj Eric was predeceased by his parents Angiolina and Umberto Liberi and his in-laws Edward and Helen Winterstein. Eric will be deeply missed by his siblings Gabriella (Santino), Maria, and Steve (Stephenie) as well as his in-laws Judith (Keith), Wendy (Nick) and predeceased by Edward Jr (Louise). He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, his many friends, and his extended family.
elevated fQqAj Through his successful recruiting business, he made many friendships from all over North America that lasted well into his retirement. Eric was a great friend who was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that asked. He was the life of the party—joyful, warm, and always with a smile and a sense of humour. His happiest moments were spent at his cottage in Kawartha Lakes, where he made countless memories with friends and family. Summers in Roccamorice with his family from around the world held a special place in his heart. His passion for restoring Studebakers in his garage at the cottage was a testament to his love for classic cars and working with his hands.
elevated fQqAj A celebration of Eric’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a donation, in his memory, to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Always love to talk about vintage cars with Eric..We always had a great time camping and fishing HE certainly loved his Golden Halk studdebaker. I will miss him greatly.

Cousin Ercole was truly one of a kind—full of life, always there when you needed him and the heart of every gathering. His kindness, generosity, and love for family were unmatched, and his energy was contagious.
It’s hard to imagine life without Ercole, but the joy and laughter he brought to all of us will never fade. We will always cherish the memories of his warmth, his humor, and the way he made everyone feel like family.

I am so deeply sorry to hear of Eric’s passing. Speaking to him last in January, he was a bright and positive light as he always was. He was a great friend to my father Vince, and an incredible friend to my mom Barb, and I during Dad’s ailment and passing at the beginning of 2024. His drop-ins at their home in the Kawarthas were a favourite, with his company always welcome, and coffee always ready. He will be truly missed. I can only hope him and Dad are having a coffee together up there together, connected again. Sending love to the Liberi family and beyond ❤️
