It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ester Conceição Fernandes, who passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2024 at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 10th, 1931, in Genísio, Miranda do Douro, Portugal, to Lazaro Fernandes and Delfina Augusta Lopes, Ester was a devoted wife to her late husband Vicent Dos Reis Fernandes and a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In 1985, Ester moved to Canada, where she lived a wonderful life, with her family. She will be dearly missed by her children Felisberto (Maria do Céu deceased), Delfina (Luís), Lázaro- deceased (Clemência), Augusto (Isilda), Glicínia (Manuel) and, Belisanda (Celestino). Adored Grandmother to Carla, Rui, Bruno, Neuza, Victor, Amanda, Susana, Jason and Brian. Great Grandmother to Sara, Tomás, Madalena, Stella, Corrado, Angelo, Adriano and Tiago. 

She will be remembered for her infectious smile, kind heart, love for knitting, card games, and spending time with her family. Ester’s warmth and presence touched everyone she met, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
