elevated sLwoI 1930 – 2021
elevated sLwoI It is with great sadness, but with assurance of a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of a true Renaissance man, Ferruccio Simiele on Saturday, February 20, 2021. He was born on April 18, 1930 in Pietrabbondante, Isernia, Italy to parents Mariannina Tosti and Eugenio Simiele. After serving in the military for several years, he moved to Rome and became a sociable taxi driver entertaining many tourists and teaching them in detail Rome’s history.
elevated sLwoI On October 30, 1955 he married Maria (Di Schiavi) and together they had two daughters Fiorella and Paula. The family immigrated to Toronto in 1966 where they began a new life. Together they worked hard to provide for their family and instilled in both their daughters’ values of hard work, respect and especially faith. They also dedicated many years of volunteer service to their church and other religious organizations.
elevated sLwoI After Maria’s unfortunate passing, Ferruccio was blessed to meet Giuseppina (Pisani). They would later marry and together were able to travel, experience and learn about many parts of the world and shared a deep love of family and faith.
elevated sLwoI Ferruccio was a kind, wise and extremely intelligent man, an amazing story teller and had a great sense of humor. The room would light up when he walked in with his smile from ear to ear, his positive energy and love of life resonating everywhere. He was an amazing father, a loving and extremely proud Nonno and he cherished his role of adored bisnonno. Ferruccio was our lifeline to the past, our mentor and role model, and our biggest cheer leader. We will miss but certainly not forget all his countless detailed stories of the past, our family history and his life in general.
elevated sLwoI Ferruccio reached the amazing age of 90 years old. He is survived by his two daughters Fiorella (Reno) and Paula, his grandchildren Julie (Luca), Diana (Giulio) and Michael (Vanessa) and his two special great grandchildren-his ‘stars’ Audrey Maria and Gemma Rose. He will be greatly missed by his brother Franco (Paola), his nieces, nephews and many beloved relatives and great friends. Ferruccio was predeceased by his brother Arturo (Mena) and brother Dario (Rosaria).
elevated sLwoI We will treasure our countless memories and remember him forever in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
elevated sLwoI In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of the late Ferruccio Simiele to St Paschal Baylon Church (www.saintpaschal.org), the Missionaries of St Charles (www.simncanada.org) or the Blue Door Homeless Shelter (bluedoor.ca)

Ferruccio, truly an amazing gentleman, talented in discourse with a great disposition. During a visit to Florida with Beatrice Zarlenga, Pina and Ferruccio, we shared many happy memories, travels and meals together. He recounted detailed and interesting stories from his past, reflective of lessons learned. A caring and attentive husband to Pina. To Fiorella, Paula, family and friends my deepest condolences. Keep those happy memories alive by sharing his stories with his beloved grandchildren…. Prayers and love from my heart. Carole Russo

Words would fall short from expressing our deepest sorrow for the passing of your beloved Ferruccio.
A father is the foundation of the family. He is not only a mentor, but a very close friend and our guidance for the appreciation for our blessings in life, and Ferruccio had mastered the art.
His absence leaves a void in the heart that can only be attempted to be filled with the memories of how much he gave to you, his family.
May God Bless his Soul and accept him into His Kingdom with open arms.
