elevated JIRP6 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gaspare Surdi. God called onto Gaspare on Monday, September 12, 2022 and he passed away peacefully, at the age of 89 years at Scarborough General Hospital. Beloved husband of Lucia. Loving father of Louie (Angela), Frances (Andrea) and Gaetana (John). Adored nonno of Ross (Julia), Jacob, Jordan, Sebastian, Savana and Julian. Cherished great grandfather of Atlas.
elevated JIRP6 As an immigrant from Italy in 1951, he came to Canada in search of a better and more fulfilling life. Gaspare immediately created a network of friends reflective of Canada’s diversity. His friendships were borderless. He attended events and socialized with family and friends often and he involved himself in Italian social clubs and events that supported Italian traditions and culture. As a long time member of the Comitato di San Vito e il Santissimo Crocifisso, he devoted many hours every year for the traditonal annual event. In addition to community events, Gaspare was involved in local politics and supported his favourite candidates through volunteerism. Though he was highly engaged with the community, his engagement did not compare to his love of family and his support of his wife, children and grandchildren in any way possible. The stories are endless of Gaspare’s devotion and dedication to family. He may have left this world but he will remain in the hearts of all those he loved and who loved him. Gaspare will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all his extended family and friends. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of the passing of my compare, always a jovial and joyous man who enjoyed life immensely. Heartfelt condolences to the family. May he rest in peace.
