No words seem enough to express my sorrow. Rest in peace, dear cousin. I will always remember you as one of the most honest, generous, and pure-hearted souls I have ever known. Sadly, the circumstances of our country pushed us apart. I left, you left, and like so many of our family, we settled far away. But now, this is different—you have gone to settle in eternity. Your absence will leave a void in our lives, but your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Dear Najla, Rita and Nadim, we are deeply saddened by Ghassan’s sudden death. You have been in our hearts this past week. We have fond memories of conversations with Gus before and after school – a few years ago now – and though these were usually brief, he always left us wishing to talk at more leisure, with his quiet and friendly manner.
We remember him warmly and hold you in our prayers at this time. May his memory be a blessing, may his passing open the way to deeper relationships with those you love, and may he rest in peace and rise in glory.
I had the privilege of meeting Ghassan three months ago at Zemlar while I was in the midst of a difficult transition. During that time, he showed incredible kindness, helping me with the move and making sure I settled into my new office. Though our acquaintance was brief, his generosity and warmth left a lasting impression on me. I was truly saddened to hear this news today. My thoughts are with his loved ones, and I hope they find comfort in knowing how much he was appreciated. May he rest in peace.
