elevated ToHSR It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gian Mario Chiesa on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Predeceased by his beloved wife Alieta, Gian Mario is survived by his devoted daughter and son in law, Amanda and Mario De Palma. We are so grateful we were able to celebrate one last birthday together on February 17th. Gian Mario will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his many friends and family here and in Italy. Thank you to all the family and friends who stayed close during this difficult time. Special thanks to the staff at Hospice Vaughan. The care and compassion shown by the staff to Gian Mario and his family was extraordinary. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Chapel of St. Joseph at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home at 9am on Tuesday February 28, 2023. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital or Hospice Vaughan, 9383 Islington Ave, Woodbridge ON, L4H 3G7. Dear Lorianne and your whole family. Our hearts and prayers are with you. As we’ve often spoken about family Lorianne, it’s clear that your love for your Nonno is unmatched. His photo is beautiful. That smile shows someone who lived a happy life and was likely always content. Speak his name often and share his stories with everyone as this next set of generations could use some of that kindness, work ethic and love of family. Clearly it’s already passed along to you as we get to see it every day here at Masters. In time, I hope you’ll make it through the tears and sadness and find peace in a life well lived.
