elevated Mlv0w Obituary

elevated Mlv0w It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of beloved husband, father and grandfather, Giovanni Palmisano who left us peacefully on Thursday December 5, 2024 at the age of 88. He will be missed by his loving wife, Giuseppina of 60 years, daughters Rosanna (Jason), Nadia and loving grandchildren Noah, John, Taylor and Luke. He will sadly be missed by his sisters Anna (late Carlo), Rosetta (Agostino), Palmina (pre-deceased), along with his brothers and sisters-in-laws Pasqualina (late Giuseppe), Teresa (late Cosimo), Lina (Donato), Carmela (Antonio) and predeceased Luigi (Rosa), Angelo (Palmina), Antonia, Maria, and Vincenza (Mario). He loved his nieces, nephews and cousins dearly both near and far.

elevated Mlv0w Giovanni was born on August 18, 1936 to Orazio Palmisano and Palma Carbotti in the small town of Ostuni located in the southern province of Puglia, Italy. After losing his father at the young age of 6, Giovanni’s life was forever changed as the prospect of schooling was replaced with assisting his young, widowed mother and sisters with responsibilities on the home front.  In 1964, he married Giuseppina and in 1967, they packed their bags and seized the opportunity to immigrate to Canada.  Through hard work and determination, they established a home and raised their family firstly in Toronto, moving to Oak Ridges and then finally in Wasaga Beach where they built their retirement home.

elevated Mlv0w Throughout his life, Giovanni loved to garden and tend to his farm animals. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing cards and telling stories.  He adored his grandchildren, watching them grow into the young adults they are today.   As we feel the loss of his physical presence, we find solace in knowing that his spirit lives on in our hearts.

elevated Mlv0w A sincere thank you to the PSW Staff at St. Elizabeth Health Care who provided the utmost care to our father. We are so grateful for all you did each day keep him comfortable and happy. To the Palliative team and Dr. Westerink, thank you for your support and understanding in ensuring our father’s care plan was reflective of his needs.

elevated Mlv0w Your prayers and kindness are greatly appreciated during this time of sorrow.
