elevated tIyVG Giovanni passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 16th, 2021, at Mackenzie Health Hospital surrounded by the love of his family.
elevated tIyVG Giovanni was a devoted and loving husband to Anna for 63 years, an adoring father to his children the late Antonio, Bruno, and Marcello. Cherished grandfather to Giovanni, Sophia, Sarah, Maria, Emily, Anna, and Violet, an honoured brother and respected uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
elevated tIyVG Giovanni will be reunited in heaven with his parents, siblings, and his eldest son Antonio whom he loved unconditionally.
elevated tIyVG Giovanni was born in 1934 in Castelpizzuto, a mountain village in Molise, and immigrated to Toronto in 1953. Giovanni will always be remembered for his passion for Ham Radio, earning his Amateur Radio License in 1968. He would enjoy going to radio swap meets, climbing his giant antenna in the backyard to get a better signal, and meeting and talking to friends across the world through his radio who would come to visit. Giovanni looked forward to the spring and summer months as he adored spending time outside caring for his garden or tinkering around in his garage. Above all Giovanni enjoyed spending time with his family.
elevated tIyVG We will miss his jokes and laugh but will be comforted in knowing that part of him will rest forever in our hearts. His legacy will live on through the fond memories and stories that his family and friends will share for years to come.
elevated tIyVG In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Giovanni’s name to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
elevated tIyVG The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Ave.) from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8pm on Monday September 20, 2021. A Private Mass of Christian burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph. The final rite of committal and entombment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (8361 Yonge Street Thornhill). Online condolences & directions may be found at www.catholic-cemeteries.com
