elevated TC9lI Obituary
Peacefully at home with loved ones, in the early morning hours of January 26th, 2023, aged 94 years.
Henry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara (nee Keppler), sons Wally (Cindy), Kevin (Deanna), Steve, Herbert (Vienna, Austria) and daughter-in-law Toni. Predeceased by children Richard, Caroline, Karl-Heinz and Ronald.
Loving “Ota” to Daniel, Michael, Lauren, Kody, Charity, Angeline, Jessica and their families.
Born in Vienna, Austria to Conrad and Elizabeth Kunz (Scheid), Henry began a journey which would see him survive conflict in Europe to settle in Scarborough, Ontario in 1962.
Henry enjoyed a long career as a driver with Smith Transport. He and Barbara retired to Fenelon Falls, Ontario in 1987, enjoying a close community of dear friends.
An avid soccer fan, Henry was a coach and referee for Guildwood Soccer Club (Scarborough) and passed his love of the sport on to family.
Henry had a remarkable range of interests. He was a winemaker, cross-stitch artist, accomplished chess player and model railroad enthusiast (Kinmount Model Railway Club).
Henry will be laid to rest, attended by immediate family, at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby, Ontario, on Feb. 4th.
A Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming months for all to share in.
elevated TC9lI The game has now ended,
The whistle has blown,
I’m leaving the field
But I don’t leave alone.
My teammates surround me,
My loved ones and friends
With more still to greet me
When I reach journey’s end.
Now forever at peace,
With my number retired
I will watch from Above,
Other games I’ve inspired.
I loved the poem you have concluded with ❤️

Ron and my very deepest of condolences. Heinz was truly like a brother to us. May he be forever in peace until we are together again.
Heinz, always was as if my true friend. I so enjoyed our weekly visit and when we talked about those interesting things of his past. Well miss him so.
2 great memories of Uncle Heinz for me were:
He had a Volkswagen and would take all of us for drives. Kuni and I would be sitting in the little cubby at the back.
He was always filming all of us when we were together and now I have film of when we were young and all the goofy things we did.
He loved life and loved his family.
I am so sorry that you all have to go through this but I know you have many many wonderful memories. God Bless
Kitty
