elevated tw7TL Obituary
elevated tw7TL Hugh Morrison Born Oct 9, 1933 passed away March 14, 2019 at 85 years old! As one of 6 children, he was an incredibly strong, independent dreamer. At the age of 19, came from Ireland to Canada and made it his proud home for the last 65 years! Hugh met his beautiful wife Frances, a gorgeous redhead! She was born a town away in Ireland but as luck would have it, they met for the first time in Toronto at a dance at St. Mary’s .Two dreamers had their Slice of Heaven in the city. They shared their love of dance and filled their house with love, laughter, and three beautiful children ( John, Desmond, and Ann). Many a great time was had by all who visited. Hugh and Frances were married for 50 years before Nana passed away but Papa always stayed true to her and the family they created. Twelve years after her passing he rejoins her to dance again. Hugh worked for Coca-Cola for over 38 years! He was a dedicated employee to a company that supported him and the family! They threw the best Christmas Parties ever! Hugh Morrison was a loving, giving, stubborn, and caring man. You never left his presence hungry for; a meal, a laugh, a coat, a chocolate bar, or a wee dram of good Irish whiskey. Papa was known for his cooking, his singing, his strength and his endless supply of jokes. His laughter filled any room he was in and it wasn’t long before he shared a story that brought smiles and warmth
elevated tw7TL He loved; sports: playing or watching, Vanna (to Mom’s chagrin), a good steak, spuds – of any kind, Fortino’s, and a good hug! Special thanks to Dr. Ambis, Aileen, and Zlatka! Thank you to the team at the Hamilton General, especially nurses Cathy, Jessica, Kelly, Jave, J. C., and Derek! Carrying on his memory are his children; John & Debbie, Des, & Theresa, Ann & Chris. Special Papa to Erin & Ryan, Sam & Jay, Haley & Nate, Krystina, Nellie & Darin , Matt & Hannah, Steph & Kyle, and Emily & Shane. He was very proud of being a great Pop-Pop to Rose, Holden, Rory, McKinley, Jacob, Oden, and Sophia! His dear Kathleen & Charley, his nieces and nephews brothers & sisters, and the dear friends he made along the way. Please join us to celebrate his life on Thursday March 21st at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home Cemetery 10 am visitation, 12 Mass, reception to follow immediately.

Dear John, Deb & family,
Ann, Chris & family,
Des and family
I am so very sorry to hear of Hugh’s passing! So many wonderful memories come to mind when I remember your dad and mom. Always good food (and so much of it), good drinks (and so strong!), great parties (and so many & everyone was welcome!), fun card games (Fran taught me how to play euchre!) around the kitchen table and so many good talks (RBC finances), jokes and laughter!
I remember them driving all the way out to Georgetown the day Dan & I moved into our first home coming with a massive beautifully prepared meal for everyone to share 39 years ago! But that was so them!
I am having a rye and coke….not a Pepsi….for you Mr. Morrison!
Have a song and dance with Fran tonight. Back together again!
Love to you all and please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers!
Love Donna Cole (Kaye) xoxo
