Nandu, Geeta and family
My deepest sympathy to Eugene, Zephra, and Zoel. I look at the photo and cannot come to terms yet with my friend and colleague to have been taken so soon. We shared one roof of our school, one floor of our classrooms, and many wonderful conversations about our growing children. Zephra had visited and helped out in my ESL class during her teaching practice. Zoel was still in the process of ” maturing” then. Eugene would have been with me on jury duty had he been selected as were in the jury pool decades ago. Ianthe had retired recently and was excited about the new chapter in her life. She was excited to become a mother in law this year. Gone too soon, but forever in our hearts. Your children will carry your light. And you will be watching over them and Eugene. May Perpetual Light shine upon you, Dear Aquinas Friend. You are missed by all.
Dear Eugene, Zephra and Zoel.

Dear Eugene, Zephra, Zoel and family,
My deepest condolences. It is a shock that we have lost Ianthé so soon and words cannot express the impact that she has had on so many lives.
I met Ianthé while teaching at St. Thomas Aquinas. Just a few desks away from mine…we would often laugh while exchanging stories about our students, she’d bestow her pearls of wisdom, and she would even bring me home cooked meals. She holds such a special place in my heart- forever motherly, nurturing and always checking in to see that all is well. Our relationship continued beyond the classroom.
These memories show exactly who Ianthé was- a true gentle soul who always gave herself to others. Her legacy is one of kindness, love, and nurture. I will greatly miss her.
Zephra & Zoel, I hope knowing that your mom has left such a legacy will bring you some comfort during your grief.

Dear Eugene, Zephyrs & Zoel,
Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved Ianthe. May GOD grant you the strength to navigate this difficult time and may Ianthe’s soul rest in eternal peace.
Deepest condolences to Mrs. D’Souza’s family. I can’t express how heartbroken I was when I heard the news.
I was in Mrs. D’Souza’s Grade 12 English class the semester Covid hit. Through the uncertainty and challenge to adapt, we talked about so much in between assignments and message boards. I still remember how much care she put into every interaction and message—our conversation about the Princess Bride always popped into mind whenever I sat down to rewatch it.
Before her class, I didn’t have much opportunity to speak to her, but she was always a comforting presence even then.
In that period of my life which has left deep scars and continues to haunt me today, I was always able to catch my breath and remember my faith in people’s ability to be kind with every class.
She was a gentle teacher and made me feel safe to make mistakes. She made the effort to know each student and learn about our lives. I cannot thank her enough.
I have too much to say and so much love, admiration and gratitude for her. I wish with all my heart that she knows that.
Dear Eugene, Zephra and Zoel/Nicole
Our thoughts and prayers are with you’ll, please accept our deepest condolences. Ianthe was a beautiful, smart person and will be missed. May her memory be a blessing and comfort to each one of you in the days to come

Minelle, Mike, Matthew and Maegan
Dear Mr. D’Souza, Zephra and Zoel,
I was so privileged to know your mother. What a bonus to have met her along with Zepra and Zoel. She was so thoughtful and kind I thought of her recently as I placed the embroidered little stocking on my tree that she made for me. She always dropped off cards for us for many years after you had gone on in your education. I’m so sorry for your loss. Please know that your mom was such a special person to all who had the honour of knowing her. Hopefully the many memories you made together will help lessen her loss.

Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. She will be missed, and we’ll always remember the light she brought to the world.
To Eugene, Zephra and Zoel our deepest and sincerest condolences.
Ianthe was a special woman.
As a teacher she was knowledgeable, compassionate and could control a classroom like no other.
As a friend, she helped guide and advise me during all of the milestones of my life. I watched her offer the same guiding light to colleagues and friends that we shared.
As a wife and mother, this was her greatest achievement in life. She would show me all of her life’s milestones on her incredibly clunky choice of hardware to house all of her abundant family pics.
Ianthe has meant so much to so many. She will be missed beyond understanding.
Our deepest condolences. I will miss sharing pictures and our experiences together.
Love, Robert, Jennie, Jamie and Sophie Cammarata
My sincere and deepest condolences to all the family. My prayers are with you.

My sincere condolences to the family. She was such a gentle, kind, compassionate and caring woman. She often sent me encouragement and support through conversations or email in my role as the chaplaincy leader. We would share our favourite Bible verse and she would tell me how proud she was of her children. It was evident her love for God, her family, friends and colleagues was at the center of all she did for others. She will be greatly missed and we will hold a staff liturgy in her name. May she rest in eternal peace and may perpetual light shine upon her.
