It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Irene Molnar (nee Nemeth) on November 27, 2024. At the Avalon Care Centre, surrounded by loving family, she took her last breath and joined our Heavenly Father.  

elevated 8Ljjl Reunited in Heaven with the two loves of her life: Karl Molnar Sr. (d. 2015) and Vendel Veszeli (d. 1986). Loving mother to Agatha (Bill) and stepmother to Karl (Laurie). Proud Nagymama to Aaron (Basant), Rachel (Colton), Emma and Stephen. Adored great-grandmother to Brigitte and Chase.  

elevated 8Ljjl Born on August 14, 1931 in Budapest, Hungary, she immigrated to Canada in 1957 with the aspiration of building a rich, joyful future.  And that she did.  She had a passion for travel, flowers and all things bright and beautiful. Her hospitality and sweet tooth were legendary.  

elevated 8Ljjl But first and foremost, Irene’s family was her pride and joy, and her “family” extended far beyond blood lines. She embraced and welcomed everyone into her heart with warmth, love and a radiant smile. Although gone, her legacy will live on through all those whose lives she touched, because she left an indelible mark on all who knew her.  

elevated 8Ljjl Guests will be received at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Rd. E., Thornhill, Ontario) on Sunday, December 1, between 4 – 8 pm.  Funeral Mass at the Chapel of St. Joseph: Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home will take place on Monday, December 2, at 9 am with on-site burial to follow. All are welcome for a reception and refreshments thereafter.
