elevated wPtrY Obituary

elevated wPtrY It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share that Italo Di Felice passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024.

elevated wPtrY Italo was a beloved husband to Nina for 59 years, and a loving father to Dolores (Mauro), Terry (Rania), and Roberto (Elena). He was a shining light and blessing to his grandchildren Emily, Olivia, Julian, Isabella, Alessandro, Luca, Adriano and Sofia. He will be forever missed and his memory is everlasting in our hearts.

elevated wPtrY Italo was born in Castropignano, Italy on January 2, 1940 and immigrated to Argentina before settling in Toronto, Canada in 1960. Here he met and married Nina and together they built a happy life, home and family.  Italo trained as a hairdresser and for over five decades ran his own salon, first with his brother as Italo and Joe Hair Stylists and then as Italo Hair Design in North York. In his 50s he obtained his real estate licence and continued to work at both his chosen trades well into his 70s.

elevated wPtrY Italo’s life was filled with love for his family, his many friends, and for those whose lives he touched. He was a master prosciutto-maker, wine connoisseur, gardener, and chauffeur and cheerleader for his grandchildren. He was also an adventurer – even zip lining for the first time when he was 80. He was a mentor and gifted storyteller for his children and grandchildren – his stories imparted knowledge and brought smiles and laughter. Italo was an inspiration to all, reminding us always to “smile and the world will smile with you.” We will remember him smiling and laughing with a glass of wine in hand.

elevated wPtrY In memory of Italo, please consider a donation to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
