elevated o7cXQ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ivanka Markovic. She passed peacefully on September 28, 2024, at the age of 50 surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Ivanka was a loving daughter, sister and friend who valued family and friends above all. She loved life, lived it fully, never wasting a moment.

elevated o7cXQ Born on December 21, 1973 in Toronto, to Martin and Vera Markovic (née Devcic), it was clear from an early age Ivanka was a force destined for success. At just 2.5 years old, Ivanka quickly learned how to set up a credit account for candy at the neighbourhood corner store. At 10 years old, she moved up to selling repaired earrings in front of her mom’s dress shop at the local plaza where her early entrepreneurial skills were on full display! She eventually joined her mom to run the dress shop together. Later, she worked for a furniture importer where she was the go-to-person that everyone depended on to track down the missing receipt or figure out why a shipping container was still stuck in an overseas port. She recently attained her real estate licence and was extremely proud that all her studying and hard work had paid off and was excited to embark on a new career.

elevated o7cXQ Ivanka graduated college with a diploma in Travel and Tourism. She loved travelling to new and tropical places but her favourite destination was always Croatia. Croatia was her second home and she looked forward to seeing close friends and family each year. She could usually be found listening to the latest Latin music in her beloved white Audi coupe or planning to meet up with her ever expanding group of friends. Her friendships were extremely important to her and she was happiest when she was hearing her friends update her on their jobs, their kids and their travel plans. She has left us too soon but she enjoyed the years she spent with us to the fullest.  Ivanka was predeceased by her father Martin and is survived by her mother, Vera Markovic, of Toronto, her sister Mary (Tim) Finlayson, of Toronto, her brother Ivan (Rose) Markovic, of Toronto and her three nephews Nicky, Luki and Tomi. While our hearts mourn the loss of Ivanka, we take comfort in knowing she is in heaven with God and her dad.
