elevated 8mGTg September 12, 1927 – March 27, 2025
elevated 8mGTg It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline (Jackie) Lamarche, who passed away peacefully in the early hours of Thursday, March 27 with family by her side at the impressive age of 97 1/2.
elevated 8mGTg Jackie was born in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec on September 12, 1927 to Albert and Edith Lamarche. Big sister to Monique McIntyre and Philippe Lamarche (deceased). Cherished aunt to Brian, Heather, Linda and Kathleen McIntyre, and Jose and Nadia Lamarche; Great Aunt to 12.
elevated 8mGTg Her sister Monique is 7 years her junior. She could not properly pronounce her name “Jacqueline” at a young age, so called her Quiquine. This nickname stuck, and Jackie has lovingly been referred to as Quiquine by every generation since.
elevated 8mGTg Jackie worked at the Veterans Hospital in Ste Anne de Bellevue, Quebec for virtually her entire career. She relocated with their mother to Toronto in the early ‘80s after her sister Monique and family moved there. She lovingly cared for their mother until her passing in 2003. Jackie has lived at Credit River Retirement Residence in Mississauga since March 2024.
elevated 8mGTg Jackie was always up for an adventure and loved having fun, especially with the younger generation – who loved having her around. Her desire to travel took her to many countries, from which she amassed a very large international spoon collection. She was crafty and completed many needlepoints and afghans.
elevated 8mGTg We all love Quiquine very much. She will be greatly missed.
elevated 8mGTg A funeral mass will be held at 10:30am on Friday, April 4, 2025 at St. John of the Cross Carmelite Church at 6890 Glen Erin Drive in Mississauga. In lieu of flowers, donations can please be made to Arthritis Society Canada
