Janet, the kindest, most loving and thoughtful friend to so many. Her genuine laughter and smile along with her positive spirit made her one of those rare people you loved to be around knowing she was never one to judge but instead embrace differences. She had an infectious zest for life no matter what was thrown her way, truly an attitude we should all want to emulate. Sarah and Timothy. our sincere condolences for your tremendous loss. Her love and pride for you were evident in the way she would beam just mentioning your names. We met Janet when she started dating our good friend John and we are so grateful for the fun times we enjoyed together. You truly were the love of each others lives. Rest in peace beautiful lady.

I had the pleasure of working with Janet at St Theresa School in Whitby. She was such a joy to work with and always supportive and loving with the children she worked with. I feel honoured to have known her. Rest In Peace . My condolences to her family that she loved with all her heart and was so proud of.
My condolences to her family and friends. I worked with Janet at St. Theresa Catholic School in Whitby and absolutely loved her smile and her golfing stories. She was such an easy going, loving person who went out of her way to help anyone who was in need. Rest In Peace Janet.
Rose and I wish to express our condolences to the family. We have fond memories of Friday night dinners and golfing with Janet and John. She always had a smile on her face, and her personality was bubbly and positive. Dear Janet, we will miss you very much. Rest in peace.
Dear Sarah and Tim,
I am so sorry for your loss! I loved working with Janet and seeing her interact in that special way, with children and adults – so spirited and fun and yet also gentle. In earlier days, Sarah can probably remember when your Mom made the courageous leap from being a volunteer in my classroom to actually teaching the entire class as a substitute teacher. What a gift for those students and I have been forever grateful that she met that challenge in such a caring and capable way. In later years I was privileged to see Janet in action again, in her role at St.Luke’s, where she was well loved by the many children she supported and all of us who had the good fortune to be touched by her gracious, spirited ways. What I will remember best about your Mom is her endearing love for you both, along with that fabulous twinkle in the eye! May you have peace and blessings always.

We’re very thankful we got to see the beautiful funeral mass for your precious mom. it was so nice to hear the wonderful words spoken about her life, I could envision her sweet smile as it would be if she heard. I was good for us to see you and other memebers of her family. The musical selections spoke about her faith and the joy she had of living her life even tho it was difficult at times. I think she would be happy to know that some of her NL family got to be there via live stream. Thank you so much and may God Bless you and give you strength in your grief.
Love & Prayers Tish
Michelle, Judy & all of Janet’s family, I am so sorry for your loss. I haven’t seen Aunt Blanche’s family in many years but have thought of you often with fondness. May you find comfort with your memories, my prayers are with you. God Bless
Janet was 12 years old when I was born and I had the honour to be named by her after the song, “Michelle”. Judy was as well, two years later for “Hey Jude”. She was obviously a huge Beatles fan. Janet often told me of how proud she was to be a big sister and how she loved to take me for walks around the neighbourhood in my pram. When I wanted to be picked up, I would raise my arms and say, “Pluck pluck.” Over the years, that phrase became our “I love you”. But by the time Judy was born, Janet was over it – she was a teenager then with places to go and people to see. See, I am the favourite.
Being so much older than us, we didn’t have a lot in common growing up, but as Judy and I became adults we grew closer to Janet and our interests were shared. At every family gathering, we had to take the “sister” photo. Going through those photos these past few days brought back many memories of heartaches shared, but also of happy days filled with laughter and light.
Timothy and Erin, Sarah and Gord – know that we share your deep sorrow and loss. You were her world. Janet fought so bravely, so hard and for so long. She is now pain-free and at peace. Her struggle has ended and ours has just begun, but in time our hearts will heal.
I found this poem so fitting and I hope the words give you comfort.
Memories in the Heart – by Anonymous
Feel no guilt in laughter, she knows how much you care
Feel no sorrow in a smile that she’s not here to share
You cannot grieve forever, she would not want you to
She’d hope that you can carry on, the way you always do
So talk about the good times and the ways you showed you cared
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared
Let memories surround you.
A word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day
That brings her back as clearly as though she were still here
And fills you with the feelings that she is always near
For if you keep these moments, you will never be apart
And she will live forever locked safe within your heart.
I love you, Janet. Pluck pluck.
Dear Timothy and Sarah,
I am so sorry about the loss of your Mom.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Janet but I do remember she was kind and that I always liked her.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Janet had an infectious smile and a heart of gold. She was always so willing to lend a hand to students and staff alike. I truly cherish the after hours conversations we’d have spanning a variety of topics. The love she had for her children and our students was unmistakable. We agreed that should our lives at school be portrayed, Juliana Moore and Diane Keaton would need to commit to the roles.
Rest In Peace beautiful Janet, for you were loved ❤️❤️❤️
