elevated jIFkT Jean Guiry, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on March 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with kidney failure that spanned over three decades. Born on December 5, 1939, in Ninga, Manitoba, a small farming community she was immensely proud of, Jean was known for her infectious smile, fierce independence, and unwavering dedication to her family.
elevated jIFkT Jean’s father passed away during WWII when she was just five years old, a loss that shaped her resilience and strength. She graduated from East York Collegiate and went on to enjoy a fulfilling career at Potash Company of Canada, Coca-Cola, and Roche Canada, where she made lasting friendships and took great pride in her work.
elevated jIFkT Despite her long struggle with kidney failure and being on dialysis for over 30 years, Jean bore her challenges with pride and bravery. She was always upbeat, smiling, and teasing the nurses, bringing joy to those around her. Her spirit and determination were truly inspirational. Her family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Wu and the wonderful staff at Sussex Centre Dialysis for the gentle and compassionate care they provided to our mother.
elevated jIFkT Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack Guiry, whom she adored and longed to be reunited with. Together, they shared more than 50 years of marriage, filled with love and cherished memories.
elevated jIFkT Jean was proud of her children’s accomplishments and adored her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Her warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
elevated jIFkT Jean was predeceased by her mother Margaret Jamieson, her father John Duncan Jamieson, and brother Stewart Jamieson (Barbara). She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Mike), Sandra (Stephen), and Joe (Marla); her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Charlie, and Garrett, and sister-in-law Louise Houston of Welland, Ontario. She is also survived by many cherished family members and friends.
