Dear Frank and Anne and Family,
It is so hard to write to you.
All of us grew up at the old Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church on
Claremont & Robinson.
We would see each other before and after church and share
our troubles and joys with each other.
Then Joanne joined The Rosary Society and became a member
of my team,.Ernestine Walters, captain, Team 12.
It has been over 30 years of working and helping our church
within The Rosary Society.
Joanne, you will be remembered always.
Love, Ernestine
From Ed & Ernestine Walters

Joanne was a hood friend to many. I will fondly remember our many excursions to movies and plays and her fabulous collection of earrings. Gone too soon, rest in peace with all our prayers.
I met Joanne many years ago, working at CRA in Toronto. She was a lovely person, always cheerful, very knowledgeable & helpful. So sorry she has left us so early, but memories will last forever. My sympathies to her family & friends.
Many Thanks for the Life of Joanne, I met Joanne in 1992, when I transferred to the Trust Division at CRA. One could not ask for a more helpful and Friendly Lady to help guide me through the system. Through the years, I could always count on Joanne for help with work issues, and it was wonderful to see her Beaming smile whenever we saw each other. It was great getting to know her over the years. Joanne will truly be missed by all of her colleagues, and her Family. Rest in Peace Joanne, You certainly were a Special Lady!
Dear Joanne,

Auntie JoJo was such an amazing person, she took care of everyone’s needs before her own and always knew how to make me laugh. She was like my big sister, I am so grateful for all the silly times and memories we had together. I love you so much AJ, save me some chocolate, like always
I have worked with Joanne for over 30 years She truly was my best friend. We spoke every day and were lunch buddies for years. She was so thoughtful and considerate and was always willing to listen and give comfort when needed. I will miss her so very much.
Good bye, my friend.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Savel family in this time of sorrow.
A thought of comfort and condolences to the grieving family. Also, you will be missed by your CRA family.
You were the perfect calm whenever things out of control. You were the voice on the other end of the phone who would listen to me vent out problems. You were the person I would call whenever I hit a milestone in life and your reaction to when I told you I was getting married was something that will stay with me forever. More than me, you were so much to so many others. The mental strength you showed through all the hardships you’ve gone through is nothing short of a superhuman. You spoiled me and Janelle in every way you could, and we will carry on with your memories forever – I love you! Save a glass of chocolate milk for when we meet again. From, your “little scammer”
Joanne was a well respected and a valued part of our work family. She leaves a huge void and I feel privileged to have had an opportunity to work with such a dedicated employee.
My thoughts and prayers for her family.
Joanne was not only a wonderful colleague, but I was so lucky to be able to call her my friend.
Along with so many others, I could always count on her generosity and thoughtfulness. She was always so friendly and the best “go to” person one could ever hope for. She was a great listener.
I can’t even imagine that I will ever be able to open a new book without wondering if it would be one that Joanne would have recommended (or probably lent!) to me. She was so curious and had her ear to the ground when it came to movies and books. On road trips, she seemed to know the lyrics to every song!
My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. May her memory be a blessing to you all. I will miss you very much Joanne. Rest In Peace.
My deepest condolences to the Savel family. May you find comfort knowing that she is now resting and may your hearts be warmed by the memories she left behind.
May you Rest in Peace, Joanne.
I met Joanne on the first day I started working for the Agency as a full-time employee. I remember feeling very nervous as we all do when we start something new. Joanne was there with a big smile, a friendly greeting and that welcoming manner that all her friends love her for. I remember thinking how nice she was, and how at ease I felt after meeting her. I consider myself so lucky to have known her and worked with her over the years. She was and always will be a wonderful person. My deepest condolences to the Savel family and all her many friends. She will never be forgotten.
My sincere condolences to her family and all her friends. It’s never easy losing a loved one, so remember all the good times you’ve all shared with her and hold them near and dear to your hearts forever.
May she rest in peace.
Please accept my sincere condolences. Joanne was a highly respected member of my former team. I will always remember her fondly. my prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Deepest condolences to Joanne’s family and friends. I will miss her friendly face and warm smile.
Joanne was one of the kindest souls that God put on this earth and had allowed to be my dear friend. We shared laughter and tears, and tears while laughing. We’d randomly sing while on break or be on the lookout for freebies. And I always had to be on the lookout for fruitcakes for her dad. She’d tell me jokingly BMS (buy me something) whenever I went somewhere.
Jojo was taken much too soon but we shared the same faith and so, we believe that God has called her home. I will miss my friend.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.
Please accept my condolences to all Joanne’s friends and family. I never worked directly with Joanne but I worked at CRA for 33 years and our paths crossed over work related issues and just social connections. She was always friendly, kind and a joy to be with. She will be greatly missed.
Goodbye my friend,
Joanne Lindsay
My sincere condolences to the Savel family and friends. Joanne’s bright smile, wry wit, wisdom, patience and kindness are things I will never forget. I’m so sorry for your loss.
How do I find the right words to express the depth of sorrow that I feel about the sudden and all too soon loss of my friend Joanne?
Joanne touched so many lives in so many different ways. She was so kind to everyone. If you were fortunate to be one of Joanne’s friends then you were truly blessed.
I have known Joanne for over 30 years and I was one of her lunch buddies when I was still working in the Toronto TSO. I will miss all the fun times we had with some mutual friends over the years at parties, dinners, movies etc. I am glad I will always have those memories.
My heart aches for Joanne’s family and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Good-bye to my dear friend Joanne. May the Lord keep you close to his heart and watch over you.

My deepest and most sincerest condolences to Joanne’s family and dear friends. Joanne will be fondly remembered as a warm, kind and soft spoken soul with an infectious smile and her beautiful earrings. May she rest in eternal oeave 🙏❤️
As a colleague I was so fortunate to get to know Joanne early in my career. She had so much knowledge and was always open and willing to share and support myself and anyone else that asked. Over the many years of working together we were able to partner in delivering training – where she was the subject matter expert. I am happy to say that this connection blossomed into a friendship which I will always value and cherish. You could always bring a light into the room with your festive earring and infectious smile. You will be missed but never forgotten.
Sending my deepest condolences to Joanne’s family, friends and colleagues. Joanne always seemed to light up the room with her smile. She will be deeply missed.
Rest In Peace.
I sat beside Joanne at the office and witnessed all the people that would come to her for support. She was always cheery no matter the situation. She was not just a colleague but we were both patients at Princess Margaret at the same time. Whenever I would run into her, as we waited for our treatments, she still had a smile and a bright outlook. She will be missed dearly.
My sincere condolences to the Savel family. Joanne was one of the kindest souls I had the honour to know. She always helped me with work with a smile. I will always remember her with affection.
My prayers and condolences go out to the family and friends of Joanne. Anyone who knew her will be suffering a great loss.
I had the pleasure of knowing her both at work and in a social setting and I can say with complete honesty that she was one of the nicest persons I knew.
Since I retired I met with Joanne and a few other friends to share a frequent lunch together while exchanging news and friendly chatter together. I, along with the others will miss her cheerful and happy presence.
Thanks Joanne for making my life better.
Joanne was a lovely lady who was an amazing friend and resource to me, my team and to anyone who needed help. We will miss you, especially your smile.
Sending my condolences to the Savel family and strength to get thru this difficult time.
Regards,
Savita
My deepest condolences to the Savel family. Joanne was a colleague & friend for over 20 years. Never have I seen her without a smile. She never hesitated to help. I would remember her sitting at her desk with all her knickknacks and smiling as she worked. She was a pleasure to know and she will truly be missed. Rest in peace Jojo!!
Sad to see that she passed away.
She will be greatly missed.
My sincere condolences to Joanne’s family and friends. I was so lucky and honour to work with Joanne. She was so nice and willing to help whenever I approached her. She loved to wear various kinds of earrings for occasions. I will remember her kindness and her beautiful smile with bright outlook. Rest in Peace.
Joanne was a very good friend for over 35yrs. She was my right hand when she worked for me. She was always there for anyone who needed an ear. She was a very kind sweet woman who i will miss immensely. Condolences to family and friends. Rip my dear friend
I was fortunate enough to be able to call Joanne my friend. Working with Joanne in the 80’s at Revenue Canada was always a pleasure and we had Many fun adventures away from work as well, I cannot forget how loudly she could Scream on a rollercoaster. She thoughtfully remembered to send me an inappropriate Birthday card every year, all if which I kept. There are quite a few funny stories to tell about Joanne, I will miss her beautiful smile and always kind words. Sincere condolences to the Savel family & her numerous friends & coworkers.
My deepest condolences to Joanne’s family and many friends at this very difficult time. Joanne was such a sweet and gentle person, she will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her. I got to know her more the last few years working with her and she was always smiling and willing to help. She touched so many peoples lives in such a positive way. Her kindness will always be remembered. Rest in peace Joanne.
I have known Joanne for approximately 45 years. Joanne was a bridesmaid at my wedding. We shared many good times from taking part in Slovak plays at the church, dances, movies, and dinners/lunch etc.
Joanne was a bright light, always happy, so cheerful with a twinkle in her eye! Not only did she enjoy movies and books, but she enjoyed discovering a new bakery. Last January, my husband and I introduced Joanne to Serrano Bakery. She was in awe.
She always spoke highly of her niece and nephew, Mark and Janelle.
Joanne was a dear friend and she will be truly missed. We will always remember the good times.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Joanne’s family.
Linda, George and Stephanie Alexiou
Joanne was a lovely person. She is missed.
I was saddened to hear of Joanne’s passing.
I first met her about 20 years ago through some of my former colleagues who have commented here.
I often consulted Joanne on technical matters and in recent years Joanne and I discussed health concerns that affected us and family members.
We often shared a joke and kept running into each other on the TTC and Eaton Centre.
