elevated pcC4t Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Jose De Freitas announce his sudden passing on Friday September 10, 2021 at the age of 87 years. Jose will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Maria; children Joe ( Anne) and Brenda ( Danijel); grandchildren: Maja, Eva; brother Arnaldo (Encarnacao) De Freitas, as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Joao and Maria De Freitas; brother Joao De Freitas, sister Cristina De Abreu, and sister Isaura Pestana.
Jose and Maria immigrated to Canada in 1960 from Madeira, Portugal. He built his life here in Canada but maintained his affection and ties to his native land. Jose was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, playing cards, dominoes and tending to his vegetable garden.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jose’s name may be made to Brain Injury Canada or to a charity of your choice.

On behalf of Milan, Branimir and Aleksandra, please accept our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your father and husband. We are truly sorry for your loss and we pray for peace and comfort for you and your loved ones at this difficult time.
We were very saddened to hear of Joe’s passing.
We have been neighbours for many years. Joe was always in his front yard tending to his beautiful and well-manicured lawn and gardens. Joe was always there to greet you, or to wave to you as you passed by. It’s already difficult to imagine this quiet but close knit neighbourhood without Joe on his driveway or on his lawn, standing with his hands clasped behind him, like a sentinel, and talking to passersby and local friends.
We always found him to be very friendly and he always exuded a very calm and very gentle manner. Joe was a very nice man and a great neighbour.
We already miss his presence on the street.
He will be missed but never forgotten.
Sincerely,
Jack and Helen Brooks
