It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Anthony Buonvivere on Thursday, May 9th, 2024. He passed away peacefully with loving family and friends by his side at Kipling Acres Long Term Care.

elevated HTcl1 Joseph was born in Toronto, Ontario on June 23rd, 1928; the beloved son of the late Marie & Ulderico Buonvivere and beloved brother to his late brothers John, Louie and Gerald. Survived by his beloved sister-in-law June Bonvivere (nee Day).

elevated HTcl1 Joseph married his first love, the late Gaetana (Gay) Buonvivere (nee Cardella) in 1955 and they remained married for 21 years until her passing in 1976.  Joseph is survived by his wife of 33 years, Yolande Buonvivere (nee Emery).

elevated HTcl1 Joseph will be deeply missed by his children Michele (John) & Joey (Ellie); his stepchildren Mike (Maria), Dan (Vic), Dale (Kim), Lise, Michelle (John)  & now in deep conversation with the late TJ; his seventeen cherished grandchildren Sara, Matthew, Hanna, Aaron, Alan (Amanda), Tom (Jana), Megan (Nathan),  Andrew (Taylor), Evan, Kate, Tsahai (Ian), Sydney, Megan, Avery, Sophia, Stefanie, Alex; his nine great grandchildren Alexis, Valerie, Lola, Leon, Ella, Daphne, Mason, Leila and Michael; his nieces and nephews Carla (Elvi), Michael (Norma), Johnny (Lori) and Marlo (Bruce).

elevated HTcl1 Joseph was a kind and caring person his entire life.  For him, family and friends always came first.  He thoroughly enjoyed all the special times with his entire family; travelling with them when the opportunities arose, and he especially enjoyed his trips south to sunny Florida where he would sit poolside having a cold one.

elevated HTcl1 Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a man of faith and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight for several years.

elevated HTcl1 Joseph had a successful career in the manufacturing industry, starting as a clerk at Loblaws and rising to become the General Manager of Crane Canada, a leading producer of industrial plumbing and heating products. He was respected and admired by his colleagues and employees for his leadership, integrity, and vision. With retirement on his horizon, Joseph leveraged his strong lifelong business relationships to start his own business selling industrial pumps and equipment.

elevated HTcl1 Joseph will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He touched many lives with his kindness, humor, and wisdom. He was a loyal and trustworthy friend, a great listener and always ready to lend a hand.  He had a zest for life and a positive outlook, a true role model and inspiration to his family and friends.

elevated HTcl1 The family extends our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the staff and caregivers at Kipling Acres Long Term Care for their dedicated care and support of our father during his short stay at your home.  We are especially thankful for their company, caring and support the day he passed.  The heartfelt respect and compassion from all during Joseph’s procession leaving Kipling Acres will stay with us forever.
