elevated IVhE9 It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph Blandizzi on January 23, 2025. He was born on February 4th, 1950 in Pachino, Sicily, Italy to parents Pietro and Maria. Loving husband to Vassa for 50 years. Adored father to Sarah (Scott), Laura (Michael) and Peter (Stephanie). Proud Nonno to Mateo, Edison, Elijah, Alyssa and Mila. Devoted brother to Carmela, Salvatore and the late John. Brother-in-law to Linda (late Tom), Tom and Angelo.
elevated IVhE9 Joe was the epitome of hard work, dedication, and love. He spent his life tirelessly providing for his family, always putting them before himself. As a father, he embodied what it meant to be strong, kind, and present, offering guidance with patience and unwavering support. He was the steady rock for his children and the most loving partner to his wife Vassa for 50 beautiful years, always exhibiting what true devotion looked like.
elevated IVhE9 In his role as a Nonno, Joe’s love only grew, and his grandchildren were fortunate enough to experience his unconditional love, generosity, humor, and warmth. His grandchildren would leap into his arms upon entering the room and would whine when it was time to leave because they just wanted to be with him longer.
elevated IVhE9 In his final days, Joe found comfort in the simple things: his favorite music playing softly in the background, Leafs’ games on the TV, and the sound of his family and friends chatting in the background about everything and nothing. He held hands with his one true love, just as he had for so many years, and with every passing moment, the depth of their love for one another was strengthening.
elevated IVhE9 To know him was to know kindness, strength, and a heart full of love. He will forever live on in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us.
elevated IVhE9 We find peace knowing he is now with the angels, leaving behind a life well-lived and a family that will carry on his love and lessons. Rest easy, Dad. You will never be forgotten.
elevated IVhE9 Please consider a donation to Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill or the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory. Your thoughts and kindness are truly appreciated during this time of sorrow.

Dear Vassa, Sarah, Laura and Peter,
Frank and I are so very sad for Joe’s passing. You all know, first hand, what a beautiful person we were all blessed to have crossed paths with. Take time to heal and, no doubt, Joe would want you to carry on in his joyful and loving spirit. In this way, you will surely honour him.
May he rest eternally.
Eugenia and Frank
How can we adequately express the depths of our loss with the passing of our wonderful brother Joseph. As our eldest brother he’s been part of our lives always, of course. Since the passing of our youngest brother, Gianni, four years ago, Joe became our “pillar of strength“. He would be there whenever we needed him for our emotional and physical needs, and as our advisor he was always giving and patient even when we didn’t agree! Our lives are forever changed. You will be forever remembered and in our hearts. We love you dear brother Till we meet again.
Dear Blandizzi Family,
We are so sad to hear the news of Joe’s passing. Our hearts go out to you all during this time. We both loved hearing his stories and enjoying lake st.John with him. He will be greatly missed by everyone he knew.
Love the Chenery Family
Heartfelt Condolences to all in the family.
Rest in peace “Pippo” this was his name for us during our childhood games.
Dear Vassa, God-daughter Laura, Sarah, Peter, and extended family,
Joseph (Joe/Dad/Nonno) your beloved husband and cherished father/ grandfather; created a beautiful life for all of you. He was a borne leader, who embraced life, inspired many, and accomplished much. Joe fostered many, wonderful memories with family and his friends. So today, he is honoured and celebrated for those qualities; and will always be remembered in our hearts. With deepest sympathies, Patricia Durham
