elevated h6w0s It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Judith Helen Hollick on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
elevated h6w0s Beloved wife of John Hollick. Cherished mother of Julie (Brian) and Victoria (Attilio). Devoted and proud Nana of Katie, Patrick, Alessandro and Francesco. Loving daughter of the late Dr. Edwin and Leona Langs.
elevated h6w0s Judith pursued a varied and eclectic range of activities and careers; a graduate of University of Western Ontario, she then moved into nursing earning her RN from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. After marrying John, she moved to Toronto and became the Unit Supervisor at the newly formed Psychiatric Department at Northwestern Hospital. Retiring from nursing to become a full time mother to Victoria, she eventually came to be a pioneer in the expanding Ontario wine industry in the early 1990s, owning and operating a vineyard in her part-time which become one of the largest in the Niagara Peninsula. Meanwhile she supported her husband with his business, also as a pioneer in the solar industry to market and license the technology. In her spare time she and John built two new homes.
elevated h6w0s She travelled the world but her favourite place was a remote Georgian Bay island handed down to her from her father and grandfather. Judy would spend most summers at the island with her daughters and husband. She was a master at piloting a boat and always enjoying the beauty of this wilderness experience. She was one of the early solar pioneers and began solarizing the island in 1975 with solar hot water and off-grid solar power.
elevated h6w0s Judith was born November 28, 1939 in Brantford, Ontario.

Dear Hollick family,
I’m so sorry to hear the news. Judy had such a big presence and I always looked forward to seeing her each Christmas and enjoyed her spontaneous visits to the office. Judy always took the time to go out of her way to give each of us a kind word and a smile. She’d always grab a second plate to make sure I was well fed at the solar conference which was always so funny and sweet.
Thinking of you and the family during this time.
John, Julie and Victoria. Sorry to hear of Judith’s passing. She was my only first cousin on my mother’s side of the family and I have many fond memories of growing up together.
