Leopoldo I. Cruz, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 25, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on October 27, 1937, Leopoldo lived a life marked by resilience, faith, and an unwavering dedication to his family.

elevated rMzju Leopoldo was the beloved husband of Esther Cruz (and the late Leonor) and a proud father to Lenore (sharing a special bond with his son-in-law Richard) and Jesse (Florence). As a grandfather, he found immense joy in Ryan (Gia), Brennan (Julie), and Ellie, cherishing every moment spent with them. Leopoldo also held deep affection for his late parents and each of his 7 siblings, treasuring and commemorating their memories throughout the years. His love extended to his nieces, nephews, and their families, whom he cared for deeply.

elevated rMzju In recent years, Leopoldo faced health challenges with remarkable strength and determination. Despite battling diabetes, atrial fibrillation, and kidney failure, he embraced each day with gratitude. In his final 8 weeks, he endured an amputation and survived a cardiac arrest after being without a heartbeat for 13 minutes— truly a miracle and a testament to his will to live.

elevated rMzju A man of profound faith, Leopoldo loved God wholeheartedly and remained steadfast in his beliefs to the very end. He would often say to those around him that “Life is Beautiful,” reflecting his true happiness and appreciation for his loved ones and life’s blessings.

elevated rMzju Leopoldo possessed an extraordinary singing voice and was eager to share his passion for music, leaving lasting impressions to those who heard him. Leopoldo often indulged in food cravings which brought him great delight, especially filipino delicacies that evoked nostalgia from his time in the Philippines. He enjoyed watching sports—especially basketball and baseball—scary movies (a new favourite replacing his love for westerns), and spending time at the casino, finding joy in life’s simple pleasures.

elevated rMzju Leopoldo’s legacy is one of love, perseverance, and faith. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his enduring spirit bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
