elevated aYqSd  Lillian Mei Ching Leong Kan, born on November 18, 1930, in Manila, Philippines, embarked on a life journey marked by love, family, and unwavering faith. At a tender age, she accompanied her father and siblings to Hong Kong, where destiny introduced her to Henry Sai Cheong Kan, the love of her life. They wed on December 25, 1949 and built a loving home together, raising four cherished children. After a brief career as a dental assistant, Lillian found her greatest joy in nurturing her grandsons in Hong Kong and Scarborough, Canada.

elevated aYqSd As a proud Filipino-Chinese woman, Lillian shared countless stories of her homeland and visits to her extended family with infectious enthusiasm.

elevated aYqSd With her husband by her side, she explored the world, creating memories in Europe, Asia, and North America. Her heart, however, always belonged to her family and friends, whom she showered with selfless love and care. She was a talented knitter, story teller, and reader. A staunch advocate for education, Lillian would often borrow books of Chinese literature from the local library to read in her apartment. Lillian always encouraged her children to educate themselves and not to be afraid of working hard.

Her unwavering support and gentle guidance were an invaluable source of comfort to all who knew her. With a warm and toothy smile and open heart, she welcomed everyone into her life. Lillian’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and resilience.

A private viewing will be held on August 15, 2024, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Thornhill, ON. Lillian will be eternally missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she cherished. May she rest in peace and sail into the millenniums with her beloved husband, Henry.
