It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Lindoro “Lino” Di Iulio on February 22nd, 2024, at Humber River Hospital at the age of 91. Born in Vicoli, Pescara, Italy on May 10, 1932 to parents Ernesto and Rosina. Beloved husband of 67 years to Nicolina (nee Pacione). Loving father of Rosanna (Frank) and Joseph (Nadine). Proud Nonno of Andrew (Christina), Daniel (Melissa), Ryan (Morgan), Hudson, and William. Cherished Bisnonno of Isabelle, Thomas, Catherine, and Lily. Dear brother of Arnaldo, Adalgisa, Ivana, Elsa, and predeceased by siblings Merina and Aldo. Lino will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of his many extended family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.

I hope this message finds you surrounded by love and support during this incredibly difficult time. I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your father. Lino was not just a father to you but like a father to me as well.
His kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. I will always cherish the memories and moments we shared with him, and I am forever grateful for the warmth and hospitality he extended to me throughout my childhood, into adulthood, and throughout the years. I recall he gave me my first bicycle.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family (You/Nadine, Rosanna/Frank, all the grandchildren, and your wonderful mother, Nicolina) as you navigate through this difficult period of grief and loss.
May you find solace in the cherished memories you hold dear, and may his legacy of love and strength continue to inspire and uplift you in the days ahead.

Spero che questo messaggio ti trovi circondato da amore e sostegno durante questo momento incredibilmente difficile. Sono stato profondamente addolorato nell’apprendere della scomparsa di tuo padre. Lino non è stato solo un padre per te, ma anche per me.
La sua gentilezza, saggezza e spirito gentile hanno toccato la vita di tutti coloro che hanno avuto la fortuna di conoscerlo. Conserverò sempre i ricordi e i momenti che abbiamo condiviso con lui e sarò per sempre grato per il calore e l’ospitalità che mi ha offerto durante tutta la mia infanzia, fino all’età adulta e nel corso degli anni. Ricordo che mi regalò la mia prima bicicletta.
Per favore, sappi che i miei pensieri e le mie preghiere sono con te e la tua famiglia (tu/Nadine, Rosanna/Frank, tutti i nipoti e la tua meravigliosa madre, Nicolina) mentre attraversi questo difficile periodo di dolore e perdita.

Dear Rose & Frank,
I’m so sorry that when we met on Sunday it was to hear of your father’s passing.
I will miss Lino’s gentle presence, warm smile and handheld kisses 😊.
I’ll also miss seeing both of you along with your mom, Nicolina, at Villa Columbo, where I would find you all seated with your dad enjoying a cup of his favourite beverage, coffee!
As the months passed, it was always a pleasure speaking with you and your mom about life and of course, Ofena. It was a delight to see Nicolina try her best to get my mom to recall a time when they knew each other. For those few moments my mom remembered, grazie Nicolina. 💕
