elevated yPmrJ Obituary
elevated yPmrJ With great sadness we announce the passing of Lucia Tobin on August 27, 2024 at the age of eighty-six years in Brampton, Ontario. Lucia was born in Tignish, Prince Edward Island on July 5, 1938.
elevated yPmrJ Lucia was one of thirteen children born to Marion and Benoit Gallant. Her family moved to Moncton, New Brunswick at the age of five years old. Lucia worked at a shoe store in Moncton to raise enough money to precipitate a move to Toronto, Ontario to explore a promising career in country music.
elevated yPmrJ Lucia was successful in finding work as a local musician in the Toronto area and worked other jobs such as court reporting and operating a switchboard at Don Valley Toyota. During this time, she met and married William Tobin (late) with whom she raised their five daughters: Kim, Cynthia, Maureen, Colleen, and Lisa. Lucia was a strong advocate for her children. Lucia was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Jonathan (late), Christopher, Nicole, Kyle, Kayla, Samantha, Alexandra, Cassandra, Lucas, Victor, and Jack. From these grandchildren she was also fortunate to have six great-grandchildren: Kevin, Waylen, Wyatt, Riley, Weston, Deacon, with a seventh on the way. They lovingly addressed her as “GiGi” and they will miss her “GiGi treats” dearly.
elevated yPmrJ Lucia was very active in her local community. She volunteered at Peel Memorial Hospital Lactation Clinic where she specialized in snuggling newborn babies and comforting new mothers. She worked tirelessly with Mary, her resident building manager, on their Social Committee helping to engage and include all the seniors who resided in their building in a variety of fun activities. Lucia was an avid baker. Her fellow residents will be missing the smell of her bread and other baked creations she graciously shared with them.
elevated yPmrJ Lucia was a Carmelite for over thirty years at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Community Brampton. Lucia regularly attended St. Mary’s Church in Brampton, where she dedicated much of her energy administering the Communion to those who could not attend church.

To the Family,
So sorry for your loss. Ron and I were lucky to have met her. She came to our trailer one summer with Colleen and Ron and brought her delicious apple pie. She was a lovely lady.

To my beautiful cousins Kim, Cindy, Colleen,Maureen and Lisa, sending heartfelt condolences and love.
May all your wonderful memories comfort you in the coming days.❣️
Lots of love,

To all of Lucia Tobin’s family, my deepest sympathy. The last time I saw Lucia, while playing cribbage, she won three games and two of them were skunks. So she went out and bought me a plush skunk, which I still have. We laughed about it for a long time. I wish all of you great courage and may peace be with you all.
Lucia’s sister Lorraine
Sending my heartfelt condolences to all of you.
Your mother was an incredible lady. I knew her throughout my childhood and she always offered a safe and loving environment, and made me feel so welcome.
May you all find strength through the wonderful memories you have of your time with your amazing Mom xoxo
I will really miss Lucy, she was a really good friend to me and I enjoyed her company, and of course her baking —she would show up at my door with buns, or cake, and even Salmon!
I enjoyed working with her on the Social Comittee and am already missing her. Mary, Lucy and I were “The Three Musketeers”, we all helped and looked out for each other.
My condolences to her daughters and the rest of the family, she was very proud of you all and loved you very much.
Lucy was a lovely lady, very caring and helpful and a fantastic baker! 🥰. She was a true friend to my mom and will be sorely missed.
My condolences to all of you
Dear Cousins … I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your mom. I wish I could be there. Sending you all hugs during this difficult time. I was the recipient of her wonderful baking, her laughs, that great smile and imparting her wisdom. Whenever we talked she had great compassion for our family. I have no doubt that the Gallant family has another angel in heaven, I’m sure stirring things up, singing, laughing, and watching over us. Rest in peace ma tante. Love You. Cathy, Tony, Christopher, Patrick, and Jacqueline Farrugia. …xxxooo…
Dear, Lucia you will be dearly missed. Thank you for your support in my formation as lay discalced Carmelite. You inspired me and will continue even though you’re gone. May you rest in peace, my condolences to your whole family.
