Luisa Del Giudice – Her Life Story

elevated dXvo2 Peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022, Luisa Del Giudice passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 94 years.

elevated dXvo2 Born on September 22, 1927, in Terracina, Italy, Luisa was the eldest of 5 children. She was a willful, strong, intelligent, independent and loving beautiful soul. At the age of 22, she came from Italy to Canada and married her soul mate, Pietro Del Giudice in the following year.  Pietro arrived in Canada to begin their loving journey as Mom and Dad, Nonna and Nonno, and eternal best friends. Together, they raised 3 wonderful and loving sons, John, Frank and Elio.

elevated dXvo2 Always the first to host large Italian family gatherings whether in their home or at their beloved cottage, Mom and Dad enjoyed being with their large close knit extended family, always laughing, singing, playing cards and of course enjoying never ending Italian meals and wine! Mom was a gracious hostess and amazing cook, always inviting family and friends to enjoy her homemade pasta (she was not one for store bought!). Mom loved baking and passed on her secret recipes for pizzelle, limoncello and other biscotti and zeppole (coated with cinnamon and sugar).  We all looked forward to receiving our cherished care packages!

elevated dXvo2 Many a great time was had by all who visited. Nonna and Nonno were married for 67 years before Nonno passed away but Nonna always stayed true to him and the family they created. Less than four years after his passing, she rejoins him to sing and dance again. Mom will now be surrounded by her loving family in Heaven: Dad, Frank, her parents Olimpia and Vincenzo, her brother Elio, her sisters Maria and Teresa.

elevated dXvo2 Mom is a loving, giving, tenacious, and caring Mother and Nonna. You never left her presence hungry for a meal, a laugh, a hug, or home made goodies. Mom is known for her cooking, her strength and her ability to always see the good in others, calling each of us every single day (even when it was not reciprocated). Her laughter filled any room she was in, and her love for each of us brings smiles and warmth to our hearts. We will miss her dearly!

elevated dXvo2 Special thanks to Juliet Santos for the wonderful care she gave Mom over this past year; to Dr. Bernstein her personal physician who always made time; and to the personal support team for their ongoing care.

elevated dXvo2 Carrying on Mom and Dad’s memory are their two sons, John (Diana) and Elio (Lucy). She cherished her role as Nonna to Pamela, Linda (Jean-marc) and Christian, and most proud of her newest role as Bisnonna to Marcel. She is survived by her loving sister Rita, and other family members in Canada, Italy and California, including her loving nieces and nephews, and the many dear friends she made along the way.
