elevated ud5x9 Mom was a carefree, fun loving woman who loved to swim, dance, travel and bargain hunt. She was known for her tendency to read the Toronto Star from cover to cover, snipping items of interest to send to her children. While out on drives, she would always ask to stop at every garage sale and often took great care to plan out her Saturday morning routes so she could make it to as many of them as possible. Evenings were spent laughing at Johnny Carson or David Letterman and watching Turner Classic movies. Mom was generous and always helped out her children and grandchildren in any way she could, hosting events and holidays at her home which was often a hub of activity for everyone.
elevated ud5x9 Mom truly lived life to its fullest and spent much of her time enjoying outings with her dear friends, such as ski trips to New York or drives through the country. Traveling was one of mom’s passions and she embarked on many adventures before and after her retirement to places such as Europe, Ireland, and the Caribbean. When she wasn’t traveling, she would keep herself busy attending operas, symphonies, ballets and local theatre, passing on her love of the arts to her children.
elevated ud5x9 We will miss our mom’s joyful, exuberant laugh, her smile and her love of life. We will miss her guidance, love and willingness to listen. Most of all we will miss her as someone who has always been more than a mother, she has been our friend.
elevated ud5x9 In lieu of Flowers or Donations, the family wishes for you to share memories and well wishes.
My condolences to your family. She was a lady that truly loved life. She was involved in many of our family get togethers and always had a few good laughs with us.
Madeline was my grandmother and a truly amazing woman who was filled with love and compassion. She helped family in any way possible and made an everlasting impact on all of our lives. I will cherish the time and memories I have of her always and forever.
Our thoughts go out to Madeline’s family. She will remembered by her positive kind words and smile.
Sending lots of love.

What a wonderful neighbour Madeline was. She shared so much yet was totally trustworthy with any information which was private. She was still working when she moved into her Bogert Street bungalow. What an active and kind person she was. We shared her mother’s journey—and her journey–and her children’s. Such a rich history!!!! My family has been truly blessed to have had Madeline as a neighbour, a model of kindness, a steadfast adult and an accepting human. RIP dear Madeline and know the world has been a better place because of you!
My heartfelt condolences go out to my fiend, Adrienne and her family during this sad time.
