elevated D1Bd7 May 2, 1939 – February 28, 2021
elevated D1Bd7 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Nesbitt. Loving mom of Paul and Lisa (Greg). Extremely proud and cherished Mamaw of Alyssa, Brendan, Alex and Charlotte. Dear sister of Jack and the late Bobby. Wonderful cousin and friend to many, especially our large extended family in Canada and Ireland.
elevated D1Bd7 Margaret was fortunate in the last months of her life to spend quality and loving time in her daughter’s home with family around her. She passed peacefully holding her daughter’s hand. Margaret was an inspiration and shining light to all who knew her. She was strong in character which helped her succeed in the business world when that was a challenge for women. A true trailblazer. Of her many accomplishments, she was a school secretary, real estate agent for Tri Del, Assistant to the Vice President of Humber College eventually becoming the Manager of the Humber College Nursing Residence and finally the Director of Administration for the Municipal Electric Association in Toronto.
elevated D1Bd7 If something was unjust, she would fight to make it right. Margaret was supportive and strong for those who needed help, she could never watch someone be treated unfairly, she would be their strength until they could stand on their own. Very generous in spirit and kind at heart, Margaret always enjoyed a good laugh even at her own expense. Margaret loved the company of family and friends. We will miss her dearly but will enjoy many wonderful and happy memories.
elevated D1Bd7 Due to Covid 19 restrictions there will be a private family funeral and entombment on Friday March 5 at 1:00pm. To view the funeral service, please click this link.
elevated D1Bd7 In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to Margaret’s favourite charitable cause, Sick Kids Hospital, it has a special place in her heart.

Margaret was a lovely woman that shared a genuine passion for life and the people whom she associated with. I had the delight of knowing Margaret since she joined the Municipal Electricity Association which I was and am a member of to this day. Her compassion for others was sincere and she brighten the room with her smile. A dedicated professional who would lend a hand to anyone in need without question. She shared many an evening or conference table surrounded by her friends which were many. I last saw her at the 2019 Electricity Association gala dinner and she was radiant as ever. She also had a brilliant wit and humour that enjoy share a good laugh with friends. She will be missed by many and the world lost a truly brilliant woman. May she rest in peace!
The Electricity Distributors Association (EDA) sends it condolences to Margaret’s family and friends. May your memories of her bring comfort during this difficult time. We will miss seeing Margaret at our Friends of the EDA event as will her colleagues from the municipal electric sector.

The Bosco Moms were all over running Humber College back in the day. Trailblazing ladies who set the example for the ladies of today. Strong, independent but always Family First.
God Bless Margaret and look after her family.
To Paul and Lisa on the passing of your mother. David and I want to extend our sincere condolences to you both and to your families.
I have so many fond memories which came flooding back after hearing of her passing, of Harvey and I with Margaret and some very difficult times we weathered together. But she was a very strong and confident woman and she left some really nice memories. She was selfless and was always ready to listen and help. She touched many lives along her journey. I feel very privileged to have known her.
Rest In Peace Margaret you deserve a place in heaven.
