Born in Sao Miguel, Açores, Portugal, Maria Olivia married Antonio Alves on June 22, 1957. She emigrated to Canada in 1963 with her two young children John (5 years old) and Goretti (3 years old) with the excitement of being reunited with her beloved husband Antonio Alves who arrived 2 years prior. A woman of immense strength, warmth, and generosity, Maria Olivia dedicated her life to caring for others. Her kind heart and unwavering spirit touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on through the countless memories shared by those who loved her. Maria Olivia who is now reunited with her beloved husband Antonio Alves, shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they traveled the world, creating treasured memories and deepening the bond that served as the foundation of their family. She leaves behind her devoted children, John Alves (Karen) and Goretti Alves (Ramzi), who carry forward her values of compassion, resilience, and love. Maria Olivia was a proud and doting grandmother to Scott (Vanessa), Danielle (Michael), Matthew (Danica), Zachary, and Patrick, and her heart swelled with joy as she welcomed her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Malia, Gabriel, Mary Jane, Elias, and Sebastian into the world.
