elevated TFxLO Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Lou, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, on February 7, 2025, in Etobicoke, after a courageous three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 74 years old.
Born in Toronto to Frank and Lena Di Giulio (nee Peruscello), Mary Lou was the epitome of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. A woman whose life was devoted to caring for others, she had a rare gift of making everyone feel special. Whether it was sourcing the perfect outfit for a special occasion, grabbing a coffee with a friend, or simply lending a hand to someone in need, she was always there for those she loved.
As a dedicated teacher, Mary Lou touched many lives. Her passion for educating and nurturing young students was unwavering. She inspired with her commitment, patience, and care.
Mary Lou had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for travel. She enjoyed exploring new places and creating memories with her family and friends. She viewed it as her mission to test the pizza at every new restaurant. Her journeys brought her joy, and she loved sharing stories from her travels and bringing back special pieces to add to her elegant wardrobe.
elevated TFxLO She leaves behind her beloved husband, Julian, her children Adam (Ashley) and Carla (Mark), and her five cherished grandchildren Jack, Grace, Mia, Lena and Michael. Cherished sister to the Late Rocco, John (Dani), Nancy (Late Tony) and Frank (Jennifer), sister-in-law to Mark (Marina) and proud aunt to Anthony, Katelyn (Michael), John Paul (Annie), Michael (Holly), Olivia (Brendan), and Luke (Rachel).
Mary Lou’s family and friends meant everything to her, and she was a constant source of love and support to those fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her boundless generosity, her warm spirit, and her unwavering devotion to her loved ones. She may no longer be with us, but her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will live on forever in our hearts.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Dorothy Ley Hospice, especially Dr. Marcus Bernardini, Dr. Amit Oza and Dr. Justin Chopra, for the kindness, support and care shown to Mary Lou. Memorial donations in Mary Lou’s honour may be made directly to gynecological research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
I had the privilege to see first hand how beautiful Marylou’s soul is. She was an angel on earth and now she is an angel in heaven, watching over her beloved family.
Sending our love and condolences to the entire Di Giulio family

Our sincerest heartfelt condolences to Julian, Adam, Carla and the family. We had the pleasure of knowing Mary Lou for a long time. She was a warm and down to earth yet classy lady and caring friend. All our love, The Albin Family
Mary Lou was a very special person. Loving, caring, generous and more interested in giving rather than taking. She represented a balance in this world. A balance in favour of all the good and desirable qualities of humanity.
It was always wonderful being with Mary Lou- as teenagers, we danced in her basement then went to Monte Carlo’s for pizza. We reconnected some years ago, and resumed our friendship. Mary Lou was so kind, generous, wise and fun to be with. My deepest sympathies to Julian, Adam, Carla and your families. She was so proud of you all, and to my old neighbours, the Di Giulios.
We are greatly saddened by the loss of our beloved friend, Mary Lou. She was a great person, a loving and giving soul. She will be missed and remembered, and her legacy lives on. Rest in peace, dear Mary Lou.
With love and condolences to the Nawrockis and DiGiulios.
