July 17, 1930 ~ March 17, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Conroy, who left us peacefully on March 17, 2025 — fittingly, on St. Patrick’s Day — at the remarkable age of 94, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born in Rostullis, County Galway, Ireland. He was the second youngest in a loving family of 11 children, one still here to honor his memory (Teresa), and others who have gone before him (Nora, John, May, Lilly, Frank, Jimmy, Bill, Paddy and Tommy). They grew up in a country farmhouse working the fields and cutting turf but always making time for dancing and singing sessions at night. In 1952, Michael emigrated to Canada to build a new life while holding onto the traditions and values of his Irish homeland.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Mary; his beloved children, Elizabeth (Randy), Marie, Roseleen and David; cherished grandchildren Laura, Kelly, Kyle, Brittany, and Ryan and great-grandchildren Camden, Jack, Emily, Liam, Alex, Nolan, and Mason.
Michael was happiest surrounded by family and friends and with lively sounds of Irish jigs and reels in the air. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Sláinte Micheál!
