Obituary

elevated 8NXPw It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, husband, father, uncle and nephew, Michiel Simon, who left us on June 27th, 2024, at the young age of 51.

elevated 8NXPw Michou, Mike and Mikie, as he was fondly called by friends and family, was born on October 29, 1972, to Palestinian parents Elias and Alice Simon. He grew up in Brampton, Ontario, where he attended Brampton Centennial Secondary School. He later pursued his passion in the Automotive Industry at Centennial College in Toronto.

elevated 8NXPw Mike was a hardworking and dedicated person who excelled in his career as an Automotive Mechanic. He was known for his exceptional skills and professionalism and was respected by his employees and clients. He was best known for his kindness, generosity, and most of all his unique and special smile.

elevated 8NXPw Mike always made time for his family and friends despite his busy schedule. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, nephew, and uncle who was always there for his family whenever they needed him. He had a great sense of humour and always knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face.

elevated 8NXPw Mike enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, gardening, hosting gatherings, going to sports games and simply spending time with his son Noah.

elevated 8NXPw Mike is survived by his siblings John, Gabe and Munaya, his wife Nelly Pereira, his son Noah, his nieces and nephews Jessica, Matthew, Nicole, Robert, Victoria, Julia and Christopher and his stepchildren Sierra, Connor and Matthew. His brother-in-law Artur Rodrigues. His Sisters in laws Laurie and Lori-Ann.   He had many cousins, his aunts and uncles Antwan, Elaine, Sam, and Joseph, and dearest to his heart were his Aunt Nadia and Uncle Ron. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

elevated 8NXPw Visitation will be held on July 5th, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at Assumption Catholic Cemetery on July 6th, 2024, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory or directly to Nelly Pereira.

elevated 8NXPw Rest in peace, dearest Mike. You will always be in our hearts, deeply missed and forever remembered.

elevated 8NXPw Rest in peace, Habibi Mike.
