God called Mike (Melchiorre) peacefully on September 28th, 2022 at the age of 69. He will be forever missed by his loving wife, Maria Rosa. Cherished by his dear children, Pierina & Joe Boragina, Josie and Stella Patera. Proud Nonno to Isabelle, Dustin, Alessia, Gabriella, and Serena. Mike will always be remembered by his brothers Stan and Dino. He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and many friends. The family will receive their friends and loved ones at the Holy Cross Funeral Home (8361 Yonge Street 905-889-7467) on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13th, 2022, at 1:30 pm at the Chapel of St. Joseph at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home.

Sei stato, seppur per un breve periodo, come un padre per me e come figlio ti ricorderò per sempre. Mi mancherai molto ma la lontananza fisica giá esistente prima della tua morte mi permette di pensarti ancora in vita seppur lontano. Lovely
Dio ha deciso di chiamare a se Zio Mike ,tutta la famiglia ti è sempre vicina anche se adesso non ci sei più Pensiamo tutti che dal cielo si prenderà sempre cura di tutti noi ,e che il suo ricordo durerà e rimarrà per sempre nei nostri cuori ti voglio tanto bene zio. Le mie condoglianze.
I will always remember you Mike, especially when we were kids playing in the backyard and on the front lawn on Winnett Ave just after you arrived in Canada. The years of Christmas holiday celebrations, the visits, the dinners, (OMG THE DINNERS), the fun, the laughs, the good times are all embedded in my fondest memories of our youths. RIP Melchiorre Patera.
Always in our hearts and minds papa. We love you and we will miss you. Our memories of you will be cherished forever. Thank you papa for all you did. Your were an amazing papa and nonno.
Arrivederci Mike, because I know I’ll see you again soon. You welcomed me like a daughter when I arrived in Canada, and you always helped me, I have not forgotten and never will.
I wanted to greet you in person but cause covid prevented me from this, but with my heart I was there with you and your wonderful family.
