elevated qRRdP In Loving Memory of Octavio Rego Medeiros.
elevated qRRdP Octavio Rego Medeiros, a wonderful husband, dad, and avo, passed away on November 22, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Julia, and sons Mark (Rosie) and Brian (Kristen). Octavio was a caring father to Jerry (who passed away) and a loving grandpa to Luke. He’s also remembered as a brother to John (who passed away ( Maria Docarmo)) , William (Dalva), and Maria, and as an uncle to Danny (TJ), Sonia (Oscar), Gary, Ed (Brenda), Jenny, Jay, Trevor (Ashley), Mitch, Marcia and Nelson.
elevated qRRdP Octavio, originally from Sao Miguel Azores, made a life in Toronto, Canada, where he worked hard as a pipe fitter to provide for his family. But his dedication didn’t stop there—he loved bringing the family together for weekend gatherings, creating special moments that brought everyone closer.
elevated qRRdP The Medeiros family faced a heartbreaking challenge when Octavio and Julia discovered that the life they had built together was destined to change due to Machado-Joseph Disease (Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 3). Despite the uncertainty that lay ahead, Julia remained unwavering in her commitment to Octavio and his care. Over the course of the next 20 years, she stood by his side through the trials and tribulations of the disease.
elevated qRRdP Octavio faced his battle with Machado-Joseph Disease with courage and grace, and Julia’s steadfast presence provided comfort and support throughout. Together, they navigated the challenges that arose, cherishing the moments of joy and resilience in the face of adversity. In his final days, Octavio found peace, surrounded by the love of his family, with Julia by his side.
elevated qRRdP Octavio Rego Medeiros will be remembered for his hard work, dedication to family, and the love he shared with those close to him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, and the memories of the warmth and togetherness he cultivated will continue to be a source of comfort in the days ahead. May he rest in eternal peace.
