It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Pamela, on September 17, 2024 in Pickering, Ontario with family by her side at the age of 92.
Pamela was born in
Dongargarh, India to Mervyn and Marie Johnson. She grew up with four sisters well known as the “Johnson sisters”.
Pamela came to Canada in 1964. Through sheer determination, faith and hard work she built the foundation for her new life and the lives of her children and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her beloved daughter Cheryl, and son Chris. She is survived by her loving children Jennifer(Neil), Wendy (Brent), Glyn (Allison) and Kevin (Denise). Proud ‘Nana’ of Matthew, Nicolle, Kyle, Geordie, Rory, Stuart(Madi) Andrew, Samantha, Devyn, Kendon, Spencer, Aidan and Pierce. Cherished ‘Nana P’ (great-grandmother) of Penelope, Abigail, Leo, Emma and Zoey.
The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the staff of Ajax-Pickering Hospital, and Viva Whitby for all of their exceptional care and unfailing kindness.
Pamela’s life was one filled with love for her family, her many friends, and for all those whose lives she touched. Pamela was a devout Catholic, who lived her life in faith. She had a passion for crafts and pottery and she was curious about everything. She loved to travel when she could and her ability to tell captivating stories which created smiles and laughter, were an inspiration for her family and friends.
Pamela will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all of her family and friends in Canada, England, India, Australia, and the US.
In memory of our beloved mother, Pamela, donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
To
Kevin, Glyn, Jenny and Wendy. I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. Pam was such an amazing woman who was so beautiful both inside and out. She was funny , kind and caring and loved to laugh. I truly loved her and am glad that she was blessed with long life even though I’m sure it was very difficult at times like when Chris and Cheryl passed. She was very strong and brave. May god bless her and rest her in peace
