It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pamela (Pam) Pereira on Friday, June 28th, 2024, at 93 years old, surrounded by her loving children.

Devoted wife of late Francis Pereira, she is survived by her 5 children, Roxane/Fred, Gwynette/Francis, Lisette, Glenario/Nerissa, Erika/Agnelo; and grandchildren,Raiza/Darshan, Shuyler, Sasha, Aaron, Jake and Luke.

Born in Mumbai, India on October 21st, 1930, she was the eldest of 6 children. After her graduation, she worked at the Central Telegraph Office in Mumbai where she was also a member of the Ladies’ Cricket Team.

Pamela met her husband and soulmate at a wedding and were inseparable until his passing after 31 years of marriage. They raised their 5 children with deeprooted Christian values, love and understanding.

Pamela had an enchanting smile, was soft-spoken, quick-witted and very practical in her outlook on life. She was talented, intelligent, especially good at cooking, sewing, and gardening, and always willing to learn and try new things. She often used her talents to help her Parish Church in fundraising.

Pamela was famous for her generous hospitality and kindness, and always willing to listen while offering advice not just to family but all her friends as well.

She was an incredibly strong woman, and faced many difficulties that came her way: first, looking after her husband who passed away from cancer in 1988, and then her ailing mother who passed away in 1998.

Pamela travelled the world with her husband, including to Europe, the UK, US and Canada. Later, she continued to travel to visit her daughters who were now settled in Canada, the US and UK. In 2004, she moved permanently to Mississauga, Canada where she lived with her daughter, Lisette.

Very steadfast and devout in her faith, she watched the Daily Mass on TV every day and never missed receiving the Holy Eucharist each Sunday.

She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren, always supporting them in all their endeavors with her prayers and positive words of encouragement.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends around the world who were touched by her kindness and generosity.

Funeral Mass at 10 am on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at St Francis Xavier’s Parish, 5650 Mavis Rd., Mississauga, ON, Canada. For those who would like to join the service virtually, a livestream will be available here: https://cdn.boltwave.com/st_fx_mississauga_on_ca__iframe_enlarged.html
