240, 15 and 42. This was my heaviest weight, my age and pant size.
He was diagnosed with Diabetes when I was 15 and knew that he had to live a healthier life which included making modifications to his diet. I decided to follow his lead and this led me to finding my passion (fitness and nutrition)
Although some people talk about achieving their goals, my Dad let his actions speak for themself.
I believe that the best thing a person leaves behind is how their life is able to impact others long after his physical body has left this world.
Hopefully my Dad has left a similar imprint on your life.

He was a very special person in my life from the age of 8 when we arrived in Canada. He knew of my passion for the Native people and his gift for me was a bow and arrow and feather headdress. Later he was an inspiration musically and his special attention to me in this regard shaped me in ways I am still discovering. I feel him with me often and his presence is powerful. Dearest Ann, Marilyn, Patrick and all the D’Cruz family. We offer all of you our sincere condolences on the passing of Dear Pat. It was a beautiful service this afternoon. Marilyn, at the beginning, when you said “Goood Morning”, it brought back poignant memories and a tear to my eye. We went on numerous day-and-overnight trips with Ann and Pat, all well planned, well-detailed and each one very enjoyable. He always began with the good morning in a loud voice, followed by his song and prayer (always including our bus driver!!). We loved his wonderful sense of humour, his terrific voice, and his loving care that he and Ann gave to all on the bus and made everyone happy, not forgetting the jokes, sing-songs and Bingo. R.I.P Pat. May God give all of you the courage during this difficult time.
Dear Ann and Family
So sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. We fondly remember him as he helped establish our Council at St. Benedict and his joyful enthusiasm and participation at our events. We know that he has gone to receive his eternal reward. Let the perpetual light shine on Pat and all the souls of the faithfully departed
We always enjoyed his wonderful energy. We are so sorry to hear of his passing.
Deepest Sympathies to all the family.
Our deepest sympathies to the D’cruz family.
Our deepest and heartfelt sympathies on the passing of Pat. For us he will forever be remembered as a man with tremendous spirit and big heart. A man of faith who had a long and fruitful life – well lived.
A well know fact is that Pat along with Ann have been tremendous event organizers, providing seniors within their community many joyous occasions abroad. I have vivid recollections of Pat spontaneously breaking out in song and cheer to stem the boredom of long bus rides from Niagara Falls.
A testament to their willingness to spread love and joy whenever the occasion arises.
Pat had a tremendous sense of humor and quick wit which was forever on display at the numerous functions which he attended either in the Churching community or otherwise.
Perhaps lesser known was his talent for strumming the old six string which he did on odd occasions and in particular on Mom’s 70th birthday.
RIP Pat your legacy will live on forever…..
