elevated ptwiV Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss we announce the peaceful passing of Quintilia Mantenuto (nee Battistone) on October 31, 2024, at Mackenzie Health. Born on October 5, 1926 in Sant Eufemia a Maiella, Abruzzo, Italy. Reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Antonio. Beloved mother of Maria (late Emmanuel), Lina (Tom) and Sam (Zaira). Proud Nonna of David, Elisa, Mark, Andrea, Michael and Daniel. Adored great-grandmother to Sophia, Bridget, Gordon and Ryan. Quintilia will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of her many extended family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
elevated ptwiV Your thoughts and kindness are truly appreciated during this time of sorrow.
I am so proud to be my Nonna’s granddaughter. She provided an example of strength, perseverance, and how to enjoy the simplicity in life. Both my grandparents were guides for me on how to infuse nature into my life. I will forever Cherish the memories of our time together.
I’m very sorry to hear about the loss of Quintilia.
She will be remembered for her outgoing personality, amazing baking and for keeping up the Sant Eufemia traditions, especially for making the perfect palmentieri pizzelle Christmas tree.
My mother Maria DiNardo and Quintilia were good childhood friends and they maintained their long friendship, often meeting at Yorkdale or on St. Clair for lunch.
My sincerest condolences to Maria, Lina, Sam and their families.

Dear Lina, Sam and Maria.
My brother Pat and I were reminiscing about our time growing on Bleecker St when we came across the notice that your Mom had passed away in October. I am not sure if you will receive this message or not.
I have fond memories of both your Mom and Dad growing up on Bleecker Street before we all moved away in 1968 and again of your Mom during my high school years at St Joe’s on Wellesley. Your Mom was always so kind to me and welcoming. She had a wonderful smile and was an amazing cook, my very first introduction to Italian food.
Not sure if you remember me Lina but we spent a lot of time together back in our grade school days at Our Lady of Lourdes.
My condolences to you and the rest of your family.
