It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Gentile (née Mendicino) on November 17, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born and raised in San Fili, Cosenza, Italy to the late Raffaele & Maria (Cardile) Mendicino and immigrated to Canada in 1954. She was the beloved wife of the late Santo Gentile who predeceased her in 2003. Mrs. Gentile was the cherished mother of Vincenzo (Angela) and Giuliana (John) . She was the beloved Nonna to Caroline (Ted), Rebecca (Mike), Jessica (Mike), and Stephanie (Anthony) and Nonna Rita to her great-grandchildren Michael, Daniel, Theo, Leo, Giacomo, Massimo, and Liliana. She was the dear sister to Tony (Irene) and was pre deceased by her brother Giuseppe. She will be dearly missed by all her relatives and friends in Toronto, Italy, Florida and New York.
