elevated 5ib2d Obituary
elevated 5ib2d Rose Marie Scott grew up in Oak Ridges, the eldest girl of six. She moved to Toronto and enrolled in nursing at St. Michael’s Hospital where she made lifelong friends. For most of her life, Rose Marie worked in the Emergency department, accidentally setting a few rooms on fire, but flourishing in the fast-paced and exciting milieu.
elevated 5ib2d On shift, Rose Marie met a police officer Peter Scott with an intriguing English accent. Immediately, she went home and bet her siblings that she would marry him. Rose Marie and Peter were happily married for over fifty years. Their union was one of respect, good humour and service. They prioritized each other and taught their children, Ann Marie (Ian), Dianne (Michael) and Stephen (Susan), the importance of family.
elevated 5ib2d After moving to their Newmarket home “the Pond,” Rose Marie and Peter enjoyed the natural beauty of this setting for over twenty years. Their home became a meeting place for their children and seven grandchildren: Scott, Faith, Claire, Matthew, Chantel, Ethan and André. The extended family enjoyed holidays, birthday celebrations, barn parties and outdoor games.
elevated 5ib2d Rose Marie had a warm personality and enjoyed meeting people. She valued the friends she made through travel, work, church, Peter’s work and her neighbourhood. She loved to laugh and had a knack for getting people together. Her fashion sense was flashy, with a touch of leather, gold or glitter.
elevated 5ib2d Rose Marie had a deep faith in the Roman Catholic church. Health issues made life a challenge in her later years, but her generous spirit and unconditional love for her family never wavered. She was deeply loved and will be missed. May she find peace with Peter in heaven.
elevated 5ib2d A celebration of Rose Marie Scott’s life will take place on Saturday March 29th at Holy Cross Funeral Home at 115 Langstaff Ave, Thornhill. Visitation from 11am-1pm. Mass 1-2pm. Internment 2-3pm. Lunch 3-5pm.
I am very sorry for your loss to you and your family. She will be missed. She is with the Lord now and not suffering anymore.
Thank you Judy. Yes, she is at peace now.
My sincere condolences to all of Rose Marie’s family.
I worked with Rose Marie at Dr. Richard’s and Dr. McKenzie’ office and oh,the fun and laughs we had.
Your wonderful mom and dad opened up their home so we make our own special memories of “ the pond”.
Rose Marie was a very special lady and she will be greatly missed.
Sending love and prayers to you all

Dianne, Mom really enjoyed her time working at the dermatology office. The friendships she made with you and the other staff warmed her heart and her memories. She loved having the crew over for “barn parties.” Thank you for your condolences.
