elevated nnNzv Thomas “Tom” Nicholson passed away on February 25, 2021, at the age of 79, in his hometown of Toronto, Ontario. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges. He was a very devoted, caring and wonderful son to his late mother and he always had a close relationship with his sister Rosie, in California. Tom met his love, Joanne at work. She loved how he could make her laugh. On September 15, 1961, they married and together had three children: Jimmy, Lisa, and Tommy. Tom made friends easily over the years. He had many fishing buddies, childhood friends, friends from the gym, neighbours and fellow dog owners. Anyone close to Tom, will remember his witty and edgy sense of humour. He was a wonderful husband, father and provider. Tom was a down-to-earth type of guy. He was known to help out his fellow neighbours and enjoyed chatting with them. He was always smiling and happy. He kept in shape and would spend time at YMCA, the Columbus Centre and the Etobicoke Olympium. Heck, he was even an aerobics instructor and was an avid runner, for many years. An outdoorsman, Tom loved fishing his whole life. He would fish during all four seasons. He enjoyed over 20 years of retirement from the TTC and was always active and keeping busy. At home, he had the most amazing vegetable garden and even made the best dill pickles. He was handy around the house, completing many renovations over the years. Tom is survived by his two sons, Jimmy, Tommy, daughter Lisa and his wife Joanne

I have known Tom for over 20 years. We met when I was working at LeBaron Outdoor store in Mississauga and he was a regular customer who would come in and love to talk fishing even if he wasn’t buying at times. Our common love of fishing formed a long and lasting friendship and we spent many times over the years fishing and laughing together. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by all his fishing buddies. My heart goes out to his family at this sad time.
We are very sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. May he rest in peace always. Our condolences to the Nicholson family.
My deepest condolences to all of you during this most difficult time. May you be comforted knowing his suffering is over and he’s at peace and rest now.
God Bless all of you.
