elevated r32kL It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of our most beloved Mother, Vallerie Maud Ambrose on October 4th, 2023. She breathed her last peacefully, surrounded by her Children, Grandchildren and many dear and loved ones.
elevated r32kL Vallerie was a very devoted Wife, an incredibly doting Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother, who embraced every moment with extreme love, kindness and generosity. She had a vivacious personality and endeared herself to family and friends with her endless wit and positivity. Age was no barrier to her, as even on her 93rd birthday less than a month ago, she danced from one end of the room to the other, with an energy and zest that was inspirational. No one would walk away after meeting her without a smile on their face, she was an epitome of cheerfulness.
elevated r32kL A profound loss that is immeasurable, our family is now bereft of a Matriarch most benevolent, she will be dearly missed and is survived by:
elevated r32kL Her Children Christine (Dominic), John (Olga), Geraldine (Noble) and Tina (Russel).
elevated r32kL Her Grandchildren Diana (Ashwin), Ainsley (Nicole), Deryn (Kristin), Donovan, Narelle, Nevicia (Jaden) and Julian (Jess).

Dear Christine, Dominic, Johnny, Olga, Gerrildene, Noble, Tina,Russell, grandchildren and great grandchildren,
We cannot find words to express our grief.
Valley treated me like a brother and I have fond memories of her.
I remember When I was in school, she took me to Karikal, near Pondicherry, and gave me a fantastic holiday.
The first time I wore long pants and a tie was at her wedding.
These are just two incidents, there are many more.
May family loved visiting Chennai during the vacations.
When my family visited Chennai during the vacations, we enjoyed ourselves. Floyd remembers the bun, butter jam. They remember the jokes.
Thank you Valley for all the love you showerd on us
Though we grieve and miss Valley, let us remember that it is only by dying that we can meet Jesus. I’m certain when Valley reached the gates of heaven, Jesus was waiting there to welcome her into His heavenly home. She is in heaven praising and gloryfying her Creator

We miss you so much. We wanted to see you in person next year, but The Lord had other plans.
Aunty Valley; A Tribute From your GodSon Mark,
You taught us life, by the way you lived.
A big thank you for all you have done for me and for all your nephews and nieces.
You lived a simple but fulfilling life, you made no demands but met everyone’s needs. You remembered everyone in your thoughts, words, prayers and deeds. The Lord weighed your life and rolled out the red carpet to welcome you home. Heaven’s gates were flung open and the angels played their best keys of their angelic symphony as you danced through the pearly gates; To be met by the love of your life, saying to you, “ what took you so long Da.”
Your family was there, to welcome you home, mummies- Mercy n Margaret and your sibling Rita who went home some 41 years ago on the same day and all your loved ones who have passed on.
You stayed as long as you could, to make us laugh and keep us with a smile, to look back on with your witty and humorous retorts.
We have seen you these many years but never with a harsh or cruel word. We seen your hard work and your patient endurance. You have lived victoriously and the Lord has given you the fruit from the tree of life which is in the paradise of God.
You have taught us life. We have seen your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance, you lived without a complaint or murmur. You lived a simple, holy life in the holy fear of The Lord, hating evil and clinging on to all things pure and wanting everyone to know Jesus and live for Him.
You always had a heart for the less fortunate in life, sharing all you had without expecting anything in return, and The Lord blessed you and you never lacked any good thing. Your home was home to all who happened to know you.
Your final prayer n blessings for all your loved ones would have been that ‘ we may know, love n live for Jesus so all your family can be with you in heaven forever.
You remained faithful to The Lord’s will, even till the end and received the crown of life, from your Lord n King Jesus.
We salute you Valley, Mummy, Gran, Aunty for a life well lived in loving God with all your heart, soul n strength and loving everyone around you, as yourself.
So with all our love n a tear we say bye till we see you in glory where once again we’ll give you hug n a kiss and see your infectious smile and hear your jokes n watch you put on your dancing shoes n pick up the love of your life knowing he had two left legs.
RIP Aunty N You’ll forever have a special place in our hearts- with all our love forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ MJDMI Mark Joy Derek Monita Isaiah n Hermine

Dear Johnnie Christine Geraldine Tina and your families
I was Johnnie’s classmate and neighbour in Royapettah.
I distinctly remember Aunty Val in her nurse’s uniform coming home from work, obviously tired but still looking fresh and ready for housework. She rested only after everything was in order at home. I never seen her rest.
She was a true Catholic who walked the talk.
A gentle, witty & generous lady, who treated everyone with respect and tender loving care.
She etched a tattoo in my soul.
May Aunty Vallerie Maud’s dear soul rest in eternal peace.

We were not prepared and it happened so quickly, but I guess Jesus was in need of a very special person like you Aunty Valley.
Our Auny was a unique and wonderful person. She was loving and caring and left an indelible mark on those who knew her. Aunty Valley was dedicated to, protective of and treasured her loved ones. She was strong and strived to provide the best for her family and others. These were a few of her great qualities and virtues she possessed.
Aunty Valley had an immense zest for life, lived every moment to the fullest and had a heart full of compassion and tenderness. Her carefree and jovial outlook were her trademark characteristics, even when life situations were difficult.
Having an Aunt like her is a blessing to our lives. She taught us through unspoken words on how to cope with different situations in our lives.
Aunty’s faith and trust in prayer and her strong belief for all of us to foster a oneness with God is something that will stay with us always.

Aunty Valley was not just an aunt; she was a source of love, wisdom, and inspiration. Her kindness, warmth, jokes, wit and laughter brightened every family gathering. She had a unique ability to make us feel special, and her love knew no bounds.
I have a few special memories of Aunty Valley that I would like to share with you – we were always excited when she used to visit us when we were kids, she always had a pocket full of coins and she would distribute it to all of us, her nieces and nephews, I would then rush off to the shops to treat myself. Another special memory was us spending our summer holidays at Aunty Valley’s house in Royapettah, we enjoyed those fun filled days where Aunty Valley, Johnny and Tina taught us how to dance, visits to the beach and having lots of fun. The memory that sticks with me till today was how Aunty Valley always treated us all the same, she did not show any difference between her children and us, she was equally kind, loving and generous to all of us.
While we grieve her loss, we can also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love and compassion.
In this difficult time, we find solace in knowing that she is at peace. May her spirit rest in eternal serenity, and may we find strength in the memories and love she left behind.
We will miss you, Aunty Valley and your legacy will live on in the lives you touched.
🕊️ Rest in Peace, Aunty Val. You will forever be missed and never forgotten
Love always,
Sylvia, Telford, Sherisse & Sienna

Since condolences to Christine, Dominic, Johnny, Olga, Geraldine, Noble, Tina, Russell and families, grandchildren and great grandchildren. It’s extremely sad indeed to lose someone so close to your heart and Aunty Val was sure was a centre of attention in every party, loved and cherished by everyone. Dear Aunty Vallie, You were a wonderful Aunty with such ease of wit. Your home was always open to anyone, the doors were literally always open. Fond memories of sleep overs, lots of food, unlimited coffee/tea and lots off prayers. First thing every morning after coffee a must to Presentation Church for Mass. This has made all that walked into your home a little better person. Thanks.
May Your Soul Rest In Peace. 💕

We pray that our Heavenly Father gives you peace and comforts you all during this time of grief and loss. We pray that as you remember all the happy memories of your Mum, you find strength and comfort in the days to come.
To Christine & Dominic – thank you for looking after mum so well. As Johnny said no words can describe our gratitude. Both of you fulfilled the 4th commandment “to honour your father & mother” and it is the first commandment with a promise “that it may be well with you and you will live long”. To Johnny & Olga, Geraldine & Noble, Tina & Russel and all Aunty’s grandchildren & Great grandchildren all of you were blessed to call someone so special your mum, gran and great gran. I know that she will always have a special place in each of your hearts.
To the Lady of the hour – Aunty Valley. A lot has been said about this wonderful person. So I am just going to tell you some of the most important things about my relationship with Aunty.
One of my earliest memories is of Aunty in her uniform. I use to admire her whiter than white dress and the cap that use to sit so elegantly on her head. I use to wonder how did she manage to keep that cap sitting so nicely on her head. Later on I knew that she had bobby pins to hold it in place.
When A Dags was getting married, A Valley taught me how to do the waltz. I think she must have taught quite a few of us. She would say “listen to the beat of the music with you heart not your head and move your feet in time with it”.
The many Christmas we celebrated, making kulkuls and rosie cookies – the rosie cookies use to be a hoot – no the batter is too thin add more flower or the batter is to thick add some water. And Aunty would listen very politely to everything.
Most years than not we would travel down to Madras to celebrate christmas. And my mum would promise to be on her best behaviour which lasted for a couple of days. And when mum & U Ernest had they arguments A Valley would never interfere. And one day I asked her why she never said anything to either of them she said “you know it takes a lot more strength & willpower to remain silent then it is to add to the situation”. She taught me that to be silent did not mean that you were taking the easy way out but she showed me how to build character. I have been trying to model her but every now & again my tongue runs away from me.
A lot of you have spoken about both Uncle & Aunty’s generosity, I can add to the list. It did not matter whether you were family, friend or a complete stranger – you were feed with whatever the family had. There were many a time that they themselves will go without just so others will not go with an empty stomach.
And it was not only her generosity with material things but with her time especially her prayers.
Aunty learnt the secret of St Paul “to be happy when she had little and to be happy when she had plenty” and above all to give thanks in every situation.
Yes I remember Aunty telling us “to receive Jesus daily in communion was His gift to us”. And hence the daily mass. Aunty’s faith never wavered in good times & in bad. She was a faithful disciple and never compromised on her beliefs. Aunty was always willing to share her faith with everyone. When we visited them in Canada in 2016 she would tell me to get up a little early to share in her daily mass.
Aunty you will always & forever have my gratitude for extending you love & care to me. When my dad was dying and he expressed his wishes to be buried near mum we were worried how he would make the journey. The doctors told us that we would have to adminster morphine injections to keep him comfortable. We were beside ourselves because we were not game enough to inject dad. Dad told us “just go and ask Valley, she will come & do it” That was his confidence in her. When we asked Aunty & Uncle there was no hesitation, no second thoughts, the answer was “ofcourse we will do it”. I do not remember much of that journey but Aunty looked after him on the train and contiuned to look after him until he passed away. I love you very much for being such a gracious person.
And thank you again for praying for Jess to get married. Your prayers have been answered Aunty. Jess is getting married on the 4th of November. I know that you will continue to pray for her & her family and all your loved ones.
I can go on & on but these are some of the important times in my life that you helped me with. Undoubtedly you have impacted my life & shaped my life, as you did many, many of your loved ones.
I know without a shadow of a doubt that you are dancing with you life partner (maybe the Cha cha cha, or the Salsa or Rumba or the good ole waltz (that you taught a lot of us) whatever the dance, you & uncle (no more two left feet) are dancing, you both are dancing to the heavenly choir on the streets that are made of pure golden.
As I say ciao, au revoir, adios, ta ta, it is with a heavy heart that I bid you farewell until we meet on the other side
You will always be loved, cherished and remembered.
Rest in peace Aunty Valley
Laura & Clive and the rest of my family
