elevated zdeKU It is with great sadness that the family of Vince Marchese announce his passing on November 23, 2024. Vince passed away peacefully at the age of 84 with his loving family by his side.
elevated zdeKU Vince will be missed by his devoted wife of 61 years Violet (nee Pompili), son Rob (Belinda), and son Tom. Nonno Vince will not be forgotten by his adoring grandchildren Austin (Aza), Ally (Matt), Maddy and River and granddog Harlee. As the eldest of nine children, his memory will also be cherished by his siblings, Angie, John, Cathy (Garry), Tony (Rosie), Vito (Mary), Mario (Stacey), Gloria (David) and Silvia (Paul) and his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents Tommaso and Maddalena.
elevated zdeKU Vince, born in San Nicola da Crissa, Vibo Valentia, Italy, immigrated to Toronto by boat in 1950 at age 11 and landed in Halifax.
elevated zdeKU A hardworking and skilled tradesman, he later built a successful sheet metal contracting business. Throughout his life, Vince was known for his generosity, always ready to lend a hand with home repairs or handiwork to family and friends.
elevated zdeKU Vince had a passion for travel. Whether exploring distant destinations with loved ones or simply enjoying the company of his family, he was happiest when surrounded by those he cared about. His greatest joy, however, was his four grandchildren, whom he supported and cheered on at every opportunity—whether at sporting events, music recitals, or any other milestone in their lives.
elevated zdeKU Vince leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to his family. His warmth, kindness, and the memories he created will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
elevated zdeKU In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Vince’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Harmony Hills Care Community for their outstanding care and compassion, including all the nurses, personal support workers and doctors.
elevated zdeKU Family and friends will be received at Holy Cross Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Rd E, Thornhill on Thursday, November 28, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Mass of Catholic burial will be celebrated at the same location on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 10:30am. Internment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
